Still somewhat of a mystery what happened.
I happen to be on the board shortly after midnight this morning when a software error popped up indicating one of the records in the message board database failed... with wording indicating a 'crash' had occurred. I've never seen this series of errors before. The board became more and more sluggish to the point it stopped responding.
I made several attempts early into the morning to cycle the server and troubleshoot the problem. A support ticket was opened with our host. The responded that everything looked 'ok' and asked that I look at my local internet connection. By this point I had to abandon efforts and get to work.
Later in the day spoke with Ken in Florida who confirmed he also could not reach the stie. I again corresponded with tech support indicating that all services were unresponsive to everyone.. not just me.
At some point, tech support did something and cycled the server once more, bringing the website back up. I've since gone through the database and repaired errors found. I don't think we lost any data at this point. And at this point, almost 24 hours from the point this saga started, I'm finally confident enough to bring the message board back online.
I'm sorry the board / website was unavailable. It was out of my control. I just wish I knew what happened. The Virtual Private Server we have has been very reliable. We pay for sufficient resources to handle the amount of traffic we consume / produce.
Please report any problems, errors or quirky behavior outside of the norm here in this thread. Again, I'm sorry.. hopefully everyone didn't go through too bad a withdrawl while the site was down.

Paul Ok I think I found one. I tried to enter new e-mail to my account, when I got the reply e mail from the site it only gave 1/2 the link to come back to. I will copy and paste it here. Told me that if I reg. over 24 hrs ago I had to re-reg my account? "We were unable to find the account to verify. If this account was registered over 24 hours ago then you will need to re-register, as it has been deleted. Otherwise, please check your confirmation email and make sure you followed the link correctly." This was the link it gave me https://www.montecarloss.com/community/ubbthreads.php?ubb=verifyemail&It looks incomplete. Thanks Tommy new e-mail is TGleave@optimum.net

I've seen that before from time to time. Not sure what causes it. It seems to hit certain users for some reason.

Anyway you can fix it? I can't update my account with a new e-mail address, so right now my account is in limbo, waiting to be verified.
The old webtv address is dead and I got rid of it.

.. About 11:00 PM EST that Wednesday 1/12 night, I couldn't get into SS Lounge, but could get into Monte CarloSS.com OK... Each attempt at SS Lounge returned a more serious outage message...
