Some of you may have recently received an unsolicited email from
BoardReader.com regarding their service. There was concern amoung a few users that it was obvious that they had obtained their email address from MonteCarloSS.com. I just wanted to assure everyone that we have never and will never share and disclose user information without that user's expressed permission. There is an option within your profile to keep your email address from public view.
That being said.. I emailed the folks at BoardReader.com about the concerns I had about their culling of emails from the board, as well as their privacy statement on their site. I have received a response from the founders of BoardReader.com and have been assured that the email that was sent out is a one time mailing, used to promote their site.. and that the email addresses used for this mailing will not be disclosed or transfered to any other group or organization. They even mentioned their intent to delete the email database now that the one time mailing has occurred. I am very comfortable with their response, and gave them some advice for future "promotions" that would avert concerns that come with unsolicited emails.
Ok.. now that I've said all that.. I want to give these guys at
BoardReader.com some promotion here on MonteCarloSS.com. This service they are trying to get started will prove to be a very powerfull search tool for those looking for information. It is the only Multiple Message Board Search Engine that I know of. If you look at the Automotive search catagories that they have set up, you will find a logical layout that will help in performing searches across many automotive message boards. Please give this service a try.. and bookmark it for future use. I'll be adding a link to this service from certain sections within the MonteCarloSS.com realm. It is a great service being kick-started by a couple of automotive enthusiasts (one of which, up until recently was a G-Body owner) that are looking to get out the word that they exist.
Hopefully this post will dispell any worries about the use of email addresses by MonteCarloSS.com or BoardReader.com. I'm personally comfortable with the situation. Please let me know if you have concerns, or feedback about BoardReader.com.
