Major milestone here everyone!

10 years ago today, July 09, 1999, MonteCarloSS.com was born!

At the time, the idea was just to create a simple site that would contain links to other 4th Generation Monte Carlo sites and information out there on the net. We had the chat channel, but the message board wasn't kicked off until December 12th of that same year.

I had no idea at the time what this site would ultimately develop into. It still amazes me today when I think back at how humble our start was. Through those 10 years, we've managed to form a strong cohesive community with strong bonds between members. In that time members have come and gone, and many have been here since those early times. We struggled at times in the formative years, but never lost sight of our vision, our goals, and our values that have been the cornerstone on which we built the site. I'll mention it again in December when the message board celebrates its 10 year anniversary.... that I've been very lucky, proud and honored to have worked with the very best set of Moderators one could ask for, and absolutely the finest membership on the internet. Ultimately you've all made our job easy in moderating here.

I'm also proud to say, that in 10 years of operation, we've NEVER been hacked, spammed or otherwise taken out by malicous intentions. That, and we've continued to keep our promise to never have unsightly banner ads, google type ads, pop-ups or user fees. We couldn't have achieved that without the support of the membership and Authorized Vendors. This site continues to be maintained purely off contributions from all of you. Simply put, this site would not exist for all of us to enjoy today without that continued support over the last decade. We've never made a profit; and we've never taken a salary. 100% of the contributions goes back into the maintenance of the site and site projects. Once again.. THANK YOU for your continued support.

I'd like to think that in another 10 years I'll be making another similar post, being able to look back at the preceeding decade with the same pride, nostalgia, memories and friendships; and at the same time looking forward to the next 10 years with the same promise, commitment, enthusiasm and anticipation of friendships to come, that we do today. We vow to continue as we have since the beginning, with the stewardship of this community our utmost priority.

So let's all raise a glass of your favorite beverage.. salute one another, from newbie to founding member....

10 Years and still going strong!!!

I still remember finding this site: I had purchased my car a couple of months before (Actually the first car that I paid for myself), and I was on the lookout for parts and information.

I browsed the site for a couple of days and signed up after having a couple of problems with my car that I couldn't figure out as I didn't know anything about cars at that point

If you get stuck on something or need an opinion, someone is always there to help. I've met some very good people over the years I otherwise would not have had the chance to meet if it had not been for this site. THANKS!

I get a kick out of going back and reading my old posts; Not that I'm an expert now (or even close), but I'm always amazed by how much less I knew back then!


This site pretty much kicked off my car obsession as I couldn't have cared less about them until I bought my Monte.

Greatest source of GOOD useful information (most sites have information but not necessarily good or useful) and help I have ever found for the 4th gen Monte and cars in general really.
If I ever need info tthis is the first place I look and almost never have a need to search further.

Not to mention how many local Monte clubs were "born" from this site and the countless new friends made over the years!

I have many people who ask questions about the monte and where to get info I refer them to this site. I will say this site is THE MONTE SITE.
