Got them mostly installed today. Had to lengthen a couple holes to make them line up, but I'm sure production tolerances come into play here.
A couple things should be noted: -they only come with a rough coat of paint to prevent surface rust, they need to be prepped and painted before installing -you cannot use the factory mounting hardware at the nose (two nuts and one plastic plug on each side) as they all hit the insert due to the washers on them. I plan on getting some standard 10mm nuts with smaller washers, and will get some new plastic plugs and trim the bottom off to make it fit
Other than that, they fit pretty decent and do clean up the look of the area.

One other note to add - I couldn't close my hood with the plates installed. Some minor bending of the forward edge of the hood and it was solved, but this was after putting some creases/dents in the plates ...the forward edge of the plates should really dip down another 1/8-1/4" deeper - this would resolve the problems with the hardware and hood interference.

Hey Tom - I'll get you some pics of where the hood interefered a bit. The other things weren't a big deal, like I say probably just a tolerance issue (or perhaps my car is tweaked?), but I'll get some pics of that for ya too.

Yeah, keep us posted. I was ready to order but don't want to start fabricating the part after I get it. Also, if it requires additional or special hardware it should be made available by the manufacture. Even if it is at an additional cost. I hate getting a new part then have to go searching for the correct hardware.

Sorry took so long to reply still trying to get the hang of the new Monte Carlo SS Web site. I was used to the way it was a couple of years ago. Just now figured out where to find out what questions people are having. I have made some mods to the Top Plate Ext. This should take care of the problems and concers for all. New hardware will come with them from now on . The only thing I can not control is the gap or alingment of the customers car so some slight mods to the bottom edge of the hood may have to be made as in the case of 85_SS, there is no way on this item to make a clearance (re-lief) for the hood ,it is made of 22 gage steel and should clear unless your car is tweeked a little. The test cars I used were both very low milage and had never been wrecked or apart and fit great on them. I have sold these to others and have not heard any ill reports. Thanks for all the posts

Cutting is not required a slight roll of the leading lip on the botome side of the hood, only if there ends up being any contact. I have only had one person that had any interference consern. The changes I have made to the orignal templet should cure this concern. TomKat

Then you would have to test fit and see what is needed . May not need to do anything. TomKat

85_SS get to it snap snap lol we are waiting on you lol Ok ok LOL Not the greatest pics, but here are a few of mine installed (these are before I bought the hardware though): ...and here's one pic with the new nuts installed... still haven't worked something out yet for where the factory plastic fastener was - I'm going to search for some new ones and try to trim the wide washer portion off the bottom side: you can see where I had the hood interference towards the inside portion where it's scratched/dented a bit - both sides did the same thing. I hammered that lip on the hood up about 1/8" or so, but should probably make it about 1/4" to stop rubbing.
