The board was down for about 18 hours due to a corrupt database. It took a while to correct the issue, but we appear to be back up and operational. The good news is we have not lost any information.
I have a feeling this was a result of a database server error on our host. I'm continuing a search for a more reliable (more costly) server solution for the site. Stay tuned for more information... but anticipate another server swap in our future.
Sorry for the inconvenience. PaulC

Withdrawls?? I was having nightmares!! It really looked like we had lost EVERYTHING, and would have to revert back to an older backup. Best case scenario ended up playing out.. and we lost NOTHING!

Well I take it back.. we lost about 6 posts all made between 9:20 and 9:30 PM Pacific last night. Still, not bad at all considering what could have happened!

Talk about having no luck with servers as of late! Is your contact from the original server still sure he doesn't want to get back in the business?? We never had major issues with him - too bad he went a different direction. 3rd time will be a charm

Thanks Paul for all of your hard work bringing back the site so we all didn't go nuts. I think a lot of us need a little dose of MonteCarloSS.com every day, especially today as it snowing where I am as we speak!! Great job, and thanks again!!! Barb

Great work Paul! Must've have been terrifying! I don't suppose the board qualifies as a non-profit org? Likely not, but http://www.dreamhost.com (who I use, personally) offers free hosting for non-profits. I've had *zero* problems with them, but I don't get a lot of traffic, so I don't personally now how high volumes effect their services. There are heavy discounts available for the initial agreement, and feature rich services as well, including dedicated servers, and things like snapshot backups. I think I may have mentioned DH before, but just in case you haven't checked them out....
