I've once again upgraded the message board software to the latest available. I have not yet added any of the additional hacks that you're used to seeing. I want to make sure this version is stable before I tinker with it. A few new features that this version has: 1) the "Last Day's Posts" feature is now shows the last 24 hours worth of posts, regardless of when you check it. Prior to this, it only showed posts since midnight pacific time.. so the list got larger as the day progressed. 2) The new community "directory" feature replaces the membership list hack. You'll find this directory in the upper right corner of the page. There's some neat features in there. There are some other features which I have not enabled yet.. not sure I will.. they are basically restrictions that I don't want to impose on the community.. but they are there if needed. Also, there are a lot of background changes that you won't necessarilly notice unless you are very observant. One hack that I will not be re-installing is the IM (Instant Message) feature. I'm not sure how much this feature got used.. but it proved to be a server hog. Processing time for the board went through the roof when it was implemented. So, it will not be returning. Again, a lot of the little features like the Quick Reply feature have not yet been re-installed. I'll get to that tomorrow. As always, please let me know of any quirks or bugs you run across. Happy New Year! PaulC

The IM thing was kinda cool, but I think only used it twice! What is the "member of the moment"?

I also rarely used the IM, and if it bogged things down that bad then I agree it is not worth reinstalling. I really like the "Todays Active Topics" covering the past 24hrs rather than just the active day pacific time. It makes the first read through the board in a given day alot easier

"Member of the Moment" seen in the community directory is just a random member picked by the software at that moment.. and that member's stats are displayed. Not much use really.. other than getting to know the other members of the board.

I get this error trying to log into the regional section: "Error An error has occured: Unrecognized character \x08 at NonCGIPath/Forum15/forum_thread_data_0002.cgi line 1726. Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you! " this one when trying to see my profile: "Error An error has occured: Unrecognized character \x02 at CGIPath/Members/pm_users/00000691.cgi line 24. Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you! " ...and this one trying to get in the mod forum today (yesterday it was fine): "Parse error: parse error in /home/n6ev/public_html/ubb/cache-LFFYL5VR/ubb_files/forum_page/Forum14/private-bKUDvN59/forum14-5.cgi on line 299" I didn't notice anything yesterday, but I didn't try everything either HTH

Hey Paul, my post and one by Hill1513 in the parts for sale section seems messed up. Mine looks like a bunch of coding?

Hey Paul - Over the last day or so, I was receiving a message from the board software stating that I was no loger permitted to post. Was this a bug or had I been banned. If you prefer, you can reply to kgorawiec@yahoo.com

OK. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do something that I shouldn't have. Thanks.
