Anyone using the Dynamic EFI - EBL Flash or P4 Flash?

I'm converting the SS to fuel injection and the original plan was to use a 7730 ECM and harness (MAP system) from a Z-28. However, I'm going to be running on the ragged edge for pump gas with a FIRST "TPI" and need to adjust the timing past 4800.

From what I can tell, it looks like the EBL P4 Flash has everything I'm looking for in an engine management system, but it appears I'll have to re-pin the 7730 harness - which is no big deal. I'm just worried the Z28 harness might be a tight fit on the SS. If so,,, it appears that a TBI harness requires very little modification to work with the EBL,,, so it has me thinking the 4.3 TBI harness might be my best bet - especially if the Z-28 harness is tight.

Any input would be appreciated.

I use EBL P4 flash. You will have to add some wires to your ECM plug so you can connect the laptop to it.
I just started to understand how to program parameters.
I do see a difference in the engine performance.
Much better than reburning chips.

Richie, are you using a Z-28 TPI harness? It looks like the EBL is the only option for extending the "TPI's" timing table - at least I can't find anything else. Thanks, Kevin

I modified a Monte Carlo 4.3 TBI harness and a 730 computer (I re-programmed the chip) It was easy doing this.
Go to www.chevythunder.com for wiring schematics and you will be up and running in no time!

I"m not using a Z-28 harness. I have a harness that was made by a company for the TPI and 200R4 trans.
ELB if for Speed Density not Mass Air.
I'm sure you could modify your harness for it.
With ELB you download a starting point table that matches as close to your setup. From there after doing some learning curves you can alter the timing map to see if it helps or not.
The guy's on 3rd Gen. use ELB and have a topic on it.

Thanks for the information guys. That Chevy Thunder link will come in handy and I've been searching EBL posts over on TGO for a couple of days. I'm familiar with TPI systems, and would just run the 7730 (MAP/SD) system and harness I have if I didn't need the extended timing tables. Looks like the EBL system is the most cost effective way of getting that.

Thanks again.

Edit - after looking a little deeper, it appears that the EBL P4 is a "plug and play" with the 7730 SD harness. I had read a post where they must have had a typo using "MAP" when they really meant "MAF".

I feel the same about what you said. Not having to burn chips and the hardware you have to buy to do it is a main reason.
Also using a wide band o2 sensor and this controller from Dynamic EFI can taylor your fuel map:

Thanks Richie, I already have an Innovate wide band with gauge and the LC-1 controller has another output that I can run to the ECM,,, so I am set.

I finally read enough information to know for sure this is the perfect engine management system for my set up. It's not an "auto-tune" system, but like you said it can tailor the fuel map. What's really cool,, is it data logs under closed loop on the narrow band O2 and you can set it up to data log "open loop" or power enrichment (WOT) via the wide band O2. It will then take those "auto logs" and make "recommended" parameter changes to closed and open loop that you can either accept and "re-program" in a matter of minutes,, or tweak it yourself beforehand.

Other cool functions include an output for a shift-light, ability to control two fans, N2O control (by minimum MPH, TPS voltage, or RPM window),,, plus it can control the electric kick down of a TH400 transmission.

Anyway,,, I put in my order for the P4 and a pluggable LT1 knock filter and shipped them the 7730 ECM to "convert". I also ordered a "retro fit" VSS for the TH400.

I can't wait to start tweaking on this thing!!
