A good source for Cunifer is Fedhill. I bought 10' of 1/2" when I upgrade the fuel system.
http://store.fedhillusa.com/38fuelhydraulicline.aspx

How is the condition of the tank inside, hard to believe that sender looks that way in only 6 years. Does the car sit for long periods over the Winter without treating the fuel?

I purchased my brake materials from fedhill and had great customer service through email on a few questions I had. I'm definitely buying there again. thumbs

Admittedly yes it did sit without a fuel treatment, when I dropped the tank there was a minor bit splashing around in it still and it sat some more that way.

Not real sure dunno I know the treatment would keep the fuel from braking down but would it protect from rust? Was it the broke down fuel that caused the rust or just crappy galvanization? It was just a run of the mill parts store replacement, that doesn't give me a whole lot of faith in the quality.

I'll see if I can get a pic of the inside of the tank

Really cool! I am definetly going to brace the inside before I cut mine as well. Really good job. You had some serious rust there . I thought mine was bad in those areas . The top seam is really strange to whats on the car as far as the new panel goes I notice. The window flange At the top is definetly going to be tricky. I really want it to fit under the outer layer like the factory . Do you have a picture of how you braced the inside of the car to keep it square ? I really didnt know u were as far as you are! Good job. I figured you were in the beginning lol

Ya little more welding but hey look what we both have done so far . Rest should be easy . They say if u can do a floor u can do it all. Teaches you all about the 100's of spotwelds lol . I shoul at that stage in a few weeks . Have to remove my driver quarter then replace. The wheel houses and trunk pan like yours . Rest is solid really lucky . I have to weld in some braces in the next few days . Like you did . Starting to Weld in my brace tomorow can't wait to sit on the floor lol . Eat off the bottom lol

I used one inch tape and followed the roof edge line as a guide, the actual edge of the roof line not where the roof skin and qtr skin overlap. I used a cutoff wheel on the grinder and cut below the tape another eighth inch or so to have some wiggle room.

Here is a pic of the rear window flange. The new qtr will basically butt weld to the roof flange on the side and back edge.

I read somewhere that GM used some sort of sealer that would run into the seams when the panel's are welded, you'd put it near the seam then with the heat it would close up the gaps. I wonder if a guy needs to look into something like that on the wheelhouses to qtr seam?

Definetly ! Or like a panel bonding glue . I could see sealant on the seams and on the wheelhouse lips . That sealant you talking about that sounds interesting . I'm going to coat the inside of my quarters and the car structure before I put the quarters on . Have been thinking of what to seal the seams with

The seam was borderline so I decided to go ahead with cleaning it while it was easy to get to.

Nice man . I have been busy lol. How's the quarter fitting now? Any pics of the tail light area? Did u have to trim the panel at all . Another thing I noticed I have to do is transfer the door latch striker bolt backing plate . Once I cleaned the old quarter around striker hole to see spotwelds mine had some shotty work done there lol.might be goin to a yard to cut out those brackets. Another question how's the trunk goin lol . Mine is all removed now an i have ordered floor assembly with body mounts driver side , wheel house assembly driver side , spare tire well, passenger trunk floor with body mounts . Can't wait till all these parts are installed . Car will look like a skunk with a white stripe down its back lol

Well good and bad, the door to qtr gap isn't very good on the qtr side it's not straight as in wavy near the top, not real sure what to do there. The other issue was at the tail light, the top part of the qtr to trunk alignment wasn't right but I think I've gotten that mostly addressed as a small slice on the back allowed that to sit down.

I did get the striker plate on mine the other day , so it's coming along.

As far as trimming I did clearance the lower section where the qtr overlaps the rocker. Also had to open up the qtr window holes as they were off, and drilled the top hole for the taillight as it wasn't there. I also trimmed the top edge of the door jamb by the t top hold down.

The other thing i haven't gotten finalized is the studs that hold the rear bumper cover, I don't think that'll be too bad though.

Right on! I have been busy with yard work lately . I almost have one quarter fitted. Can you send me a pic of the back corner where the quarter meets the back window area . I guess the back of the quarter seam. Also if u could take a measurment from the top roof line to the quarter window opening edge . I'm close with mine just want a comparison thanks . Looks really good . I'm still alot behind you lol
