Anyone know where I can get a power steering pump with the pulley attached for my 86SS? I know several places carry them separate but looking for a complete unit. I suppose it's easier installing a pulley as opposed to removing one but want to make things easier so I don't damage anything. When looking at my existing pump the pulley wobbles a bit. It's been like this for years but I think it's time to replace it. Not sure if the pulley is damage or if it's the water pump bearings but both need to be replaced. The car did come with A/C but I have removed it so a single drive pulley should work fine as long as it lines up correctly with the belt.

.. Most auto stores have a special simple power steering pump pulley puller/installer that you can borrow for free by leaving a deposit... makes it easy to off or on the pulley... DON'T hammer a pulley on...

.. The pump and fluid reservoir are actually two separate pieces as well... remove the fitting and bolts and reservoir usually easily taps off the pump using the rubber handle of a hammer...

.. A slight pulley wobble doesn't hurt anything... usually just replace them when coolant or fluid is leaking out around the shaft seals... or shaft is loose/wobbly and failure is obviously imminent...

.. There are also rebuild kits for power steering pumps, but that job is not for the mechanically timid...

IIRC u will not be able to purchase it already assembled. Pump has to be mounted first, then pulley can be pressed on. Most times, the pump comes with a bolt, nut, and washer that allows u to put it back on. Off needs a puller for sure.

Ok. Thanks Guys. Anyone else have slight pulley wobble? If yes, I may just leave it on until I have leaking issues. Right now, no leaks at all and this is the original power steering pump. Car has 160,000 original miles.

Bought my pump from RockAuto(AC Delco). I found a good pulley at the junkyard. Pressed on with rental and good to go. My pulley was bent too. I believe I have a good pulley from another member if you need one.

No wobble on any of mine. I'd say bearing is starting to wear out if it wobbles.
