I am looking for ideas to paint my SS. Since my SS is far from stock, I want to do something custom. Post pictures of your custom painted SS. Please include what colors were used, brand of paint (if known) and approximate cost.
Thanks!!!

That green is GORGEOUS. The factory stripes look incredible in combo with it. The stripe kit is the factory scheme for a black car, right? (light on top and dark on bottom)

If you click the link in my signature, I have two different color combos. I have the current setup, which is "electric green" a ford color, and any run of hte mill black. The pinstriping was all done in silver. The clear had a metalic flake added to it for a little more pop. Total cost was appx 2500, and all of the paint was "Omni" paint products.

The second, original style, paint was just a simple burgandy and silver paint setup. The upside to this is that the paints I bought had more metallic in them already, so we didn't have to add it to the clear. The price on this one was about 2500 as well, and it lasted 6 years without too many problems.

The easiest way to keep costs down is to find a factory color that you really like, and use it, instead of a house of colors candy paint. With doing this, it is also easier to match if anything ever happens (such as rock chips).

A few pictures before the pinstriping...but next week I'll get some better ones, as its supposed to be warm outside again:

There are more in my Photobucket if you need more, as well as a bunch on my home computer of different style paint schemes.

Currently I have a stock Black and Saddle 87 SS that I am thinking about having repainted in Dark Metallic Blue with new stock gold stickers. I saw a brand new Camaro RS in this blue and I fell in love with it. Its a little deeper than the Monte SS blue and I think it will look good with the gold and tan.

Anybody think this is nuts????

Steve, I seen that same color just the other day and I love it to. My Monte is painted Gm Indigo Blue, and the next paint job I hope this winter will sport something darker and richer like that 2010 Camaro Blue.
