Hard to tell, but I think you're gonna need all those wires, give us a wider shot from farther away.

See if these pictures help. I will get a video when my camera charges. I will explain what color the wires are and show where the wires come from. Anything you can come up with is greatly appreciated.

Well, when I removed my AC, they didnt come from the passenger side, looks like you may have cut your headlight harness wires, which isnt good.

I thought I cut the wires but if I can remember correctly they were attached to a wiring grommet like a O= but what did they attach to?

Uusually, the passenger side has all the AC and heater stuff, looks like what you cut is from the driver side, which is most likely the headlight harness and such. Cover the wires indivially, and turn on the headlights, if they dont work, you cut the wrong wires, if they do, then your safe.

Edit: Here is the other picture from your other post,

if you cut the wire loom from the drivers side then you made more trouble for yourself. All the A/C wiring I removed came from the passenger side grommet thats located under the a/c heater box housing almost where the frame meets firewall on the passenger side.

I left the entire drivers side wire loom untouched as it has the temp sensor, distributor power/ground, starter power/ground, headlights and whatever else I may have forgot

If the grommets you described are what I'm thinking they are... they would be the ground wires (black) for the front and side marker lights and turn signals.

Seeing the colors (pink) of a couple of the wires leads me to believe also that it's the wire harness for the front lights. Pink and green are wired for my low and high beam bulbs. Blue and brown going to the marker lights, with black being grounds.

The metal grommets would be attached (on my monte) to the radiator support across from the left and right side headlight buckets.

Edit: On second glance though now... those might be the wires for the ignition system.... I'm not sure... the Purple is throwing me off currently.

When I cut the looms I could of swore that they all came off the starter? I just cut the old looms off to put new ones on. Without thinking I cut them and faile dto mark where they went. On the other hand there is another batch of wires below the wires in question. Those run from the firewall to the front of the car on the driverside. They do run to the headlights. Those wire are left untouched as I did not want to make a larger mess. Any info is much appreciated.

I'll have to see if I can track down my electrical manual (still unpacking). I'm guessing (hope) there may not have been much of (if any) change in that wire harness set-up/colors between '86 and '88. It just may take me a bit of time to hunt down. On the up side it would/should have a diagram with wire colors in it.

IIRC, the purple wire goes to the S terminal on the starter. Good luck with your search.

I have some possible good news. Although I haven't tracked down my electrical diagnois service manual yet. The Hanes Monte Carlo manual I did find has wiring diagrams in it. The question now is what the wire colors are. The chart I'm looking at is showing wire colors for that engine compartment as:
Pink
Red (x2)
Dark Green w/h White
Purple
Brown
Brown
Dark Green
Tan

Looks like these would cover the: alternator, temp. switch, oil pressure switch, distrib., and starter motor and solinoid. Are these a match?

Thats what I had thought too Phantaz. The red and purple wires I have are located on the starter and solenoid. The pink and white I used for the distributor power and ground. The temp sensor i think was green? but i could be wrong.

I want to say the oil pressure sensor was green as well but again, i could be wrong. i havent taken a look at my monte for quite awhile now, but i can take a look when i get home from work tonight.

Bradhoff, looks like you got alittle too carried away with cutting LOL can't say I haven't gotten too carried away with what i was going before! Theres a ton of info on here with information on removing the computer, ccc system and emissions. Whats good is that it seems you still have the necessary wireloom left, just with shorter wires. What you need to do now and find out which wires go where and lengthen the wires you got now. Some will solder then wrap with tape, some will splice them with a crush-sleeve and wrap in tape.

I'll see if I can't take a few pictures of which colored wires go where. Maybe that would help you out?
