What's up fellas..I'm new here to the forum..for those of you on LS1tech you might recognize the name..:)

Well here it is..

1984 Monte Carlo SS..:D

Paid $4800 for it. Solid, very little surface rust on the frame..if any. Body is probably 95%, just little paint touchups n stuff like that. Interior is about 95% as well..:)
It Vin checked and car faxed out to be an original 1984 MCSS, clear title.

Currently it has a 350/200R4 in it with the 3.73 Posi 10-bolt Rear. Plans are to swap in a 408 LQ4/L92 Stroker & Built T56 setup that I had in my 1998 Camaro SS..the Camaro had wrecked last saturday.

Those are the stock 14's, 17's are a must and will be going on..atleast a 275/40 tire.

9" Rear, 3.89 Gears, needs a new Radiator, all wiring from the Camaro will be going in with the F-body Gauges so everything will be working correctly. It will have the capability to be tuned with my HP Tuners..;)

Hedman 1 3/4"/3" Long Tube Headers, Strange Chromeoly Drive Shaft, definately some UMI Aftermarket Suspension..LCA's, Adjustable Rear UCA's, Front & Back Sway Bars, Coil Overs all around. Brake Upgrade to 4-way Disc that are worth a xxxx . Prob LT1 for the Backs, whatever will work for the front. Clutch Pedal I'm workin on, I'm pondering adapting the Camaro Center Console to fit in the car since it will be a 6spd.
True-dual 3" Exhaust with X-pipe using my Flo-Pro Twistie Mufflers piped out the back.

Then once it's worked out with the LS Engine and all the old non-needed 80's stuff is out..sound system upgraded.:)

Thanks man. I've seen John B runnin around Tech so I know he's definately on here..there is another guy on here that is in my local area, he has a LS in his car.

I have a pretty good idea where to find my stuff and I'll be doing the wiring for this..I have a whole Camaro worth of wiring to work with.

How many of you guys here have Manual swaps in your cars?

When you do it, I'll probably need a little help from you! I did the swap but used a 4l80e tranny for now. Now I'd like to go over to a t56 swap, but am having a hard time finding write ups on what I'll need beside the trans, bell housing, crossmember, and pedal...man do I feel dumb wink

Looks like a very solid car - congrats on the purchase and welcome to the board wave

Just as an FYI, the stock '84 SS wheels are actually 5-hole 15x7" as seen here:

I've seen the 6-hole wheels you have but can't quite place them. I'm thinking they might be from an S10 or Berlinetta Camaro?

They look like 3rd gen Monte wheels...amongst other car from the same era.

The car looks like a nice solid foundation for which it sounds like you have fun plans for.

It's a repaint..a cheap econo one from the looks. For now it will suffice. Eventually I'll get it redone.

I have all 4 of them rings.

Well the 9" Housing has been ordered for the rear. It was a custom order G-body Housing, Axle Tubes have been extended out 2" on each side to clear the LT1 Disc Brakes. They will bolt the same way they do on the F-body so I can keep my Axles from the setup I had in my Camaro..:D
