Here is my issue - took my GPS in the car today and founf my Speedo is off by atleast 5 miles an hour at 45 mph and gets worst as I go faster.

Here are the specs of the car - I have a TH350 in my 86 Monte
stock height tires 215/65/15
3.73 Posi Rear end.

Does any one know where to buy the correct gear and the part # or am I going to have to pull the one out and figure out what it is an make an educated guess to the next set of teeth and hope I am right
Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks for the Info - one problem is I do not know what the # of drive teeth are without pulling the drive shaft and counting the # of splines unless I am reading that wrong

Look at the cutaway Pic in Post #4 here >> http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/speedo-gears-139340.html
You should be able to shine a small light on the Drive gear after removing the Speedo bullet & Driven gear to see what color it is. May be able to count the teeth also. The TCI chart has the gear colors >> http://www.tciauto.com/Products/TechInfo/speedo_gears.asp#350

Thanks Todd - I'll take a look at it - after I posted the above statement I got a chance to read some stuff at work today and realized there are two gears for the speedo - now I understand what it means by drive and driven

The drive teeth are the ones in the upper portion and the driven teeth are the ones attached to the speedo cable

Ok Drive Gear is Green (9)
Driven Gear is White (36)
Gears are 3.73
tire size (215-65-15) = 26.00

According to the TCI website I need Driven Teeth - 26.01397679243833

The closest one is 27

Gonna order it and hope it isnt off as bad as I am now LOL
Thanksfor the help
