Time to start planning for the show. I've been the last 2 years and had a blast! Had 3 Monte's in the show last year from the group... Leo won an award with his 86! I'm here to tell ya that I had no idea what the criteria was, just lucky I guess. As Jeff said, everything you could imagine was in attendance. A little on the warm side though, gonna bring the easy-up this time.

We will both be there this year. (with the easy up! LOL) Be sure to bring some comfy chairs and good walking shoes.

What kind of schedule is there for this year? Breakfast, lunch, supper?
Norman and I won't make it up there until Saturday morning. School starts August 25th.

I'm sure we will do something like last year Gwen. Something simple is always best. Just play it by ear.

Since there is really no restraunts around the car show or our place,we can just come back to our place and cook out,last year I had to work,and got food out late,this year I can cook more and earlier,lunch Im thinking at the show,they have a ton of vendors there..........or mabey grab a small grill and some dogs or brats for lunch something simple..the Mini wont hold a easy-up nor a small grill..sooooooo..LOL..Jeff can bring it!..PS JEFF!!!! where is my stinkin CLUTCH???????????

I've got a couple EZ-Ups I can bring.

I have a fryer. It can Deep Fry everything from chicken, fish fries, hush puppies, etc. Question is: can I get the Monte repaired before then?

Looks like the Impala will be making the trip this year. Lots of room in the trunk for all the necessities. Easy up, cooler of ice for drinks and sandwich materials, and chairs. Maybe even a hammock if I can find one. LOL

Well dang it I'm going to have to back out of this. Out of the blue I get a call from a old army bubby I not seen since 79 was station in Germany together and where good friends we even took 30 days in county vacation together rode the trains all oven Europe what a time we had. Anyways he coming to Nags Head the Aug 27 so the wife and I going there for a few days, I hear old friends are good for the soul. Hope y'all have fun and hope to see y'all or them that are coming to Kissimmee in Nov.

OK folks, the time is getting shorter by the day, get them rides ready.

Mine is getting there. It's up on jack stands getting the under side cleaned up.

All mine could use a good cleaning. Haven't really decided yet on what to take. I know Susan wants to take her Mini. Still up in the air on which one to clean.

Doing the $500 tune up on the Impala. Water pump, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. And that is just the cost of the parts. Good thing I have an "in" with the mechanic. LOL

trying to have the 2+2 roadworthy for the trip, gotta do the front steel brake lines, I have them here, waiting for the time to do the install and bleed. Then see what the engine miss is about. Wish me luck.

Yeah, I haven't done the complete tune up yet, plug wires are the old ones still. Plugs, cap and rotor are new along with the PCV valve. no biggie.

Only s few weeks to go. Looking forward to it!

Thanks Gwen! James is a great guy, just kinda shy... like I used to be. Once you get to know him, he's really nice. Just did a search from the name you gave me AND ADDED him to my contacts. Shot him a quick invite, so hopefully he can make it out with us.

Well, I may have to skip this one this year, Pearl is gonna have knee surgery again, she has an infection in her right knee, the Dr is gonna remove the prothesetic knee and put an antibiotic block in her and after six weeks, remove that and reinstall another prostetic knee. We thought that was all in the past and man, does it suck.

Sorry Leo. Please send all our best to Pearl for a speedy recovery. We'll miss ya buddy!

Hey Jeff thanks for the reminder. I plan on coming to the show. I think the last time I came out to an event was back in 04 or 05. Now that I'm out of college and have a job I plan on trying to make it to as many events as possible. The 84SS isn't as nice as it was in 04 but I'm slowly working on it. I hope to install a new exhaust and repaint this year but that's just the top of the list. Look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new folks.

Good deal James! No worries on the car, we all have been or need to be working on them. Not here to judge for the condition, just getting together with friends and having fun.

Hey guys, what time is everyone planning on getting to the show and are we meeting before the show?

We can meet up at the Walmart in Hillsborough. Pretty simple to find on Google. It's only about a mile or less to the show location and it's right off I85. I figure we could meet around 9 at Walmart, those that need supplies (drinks, ice, etc) for the car show can pick them up and then head off as a group to the sow. (so we can park together) Plenty of time to set up, spot clean, set up our chairs and easy-up for shade, then enjoy the show and seeing each other.

Everyone is invited to come to the house after the show for a cookout.

Looks like I'm not going to make it. Ive spent the last hour trying to get my window to roll up and have not seen signs of hope. I installed a new switch today and it worked fine for awhile and it just stopped rolling the window up. I'm going to mess with it tomorrow and if I cant fix it, I guess il have to take it to the shop.

Yep, I fit in there. The inside of a Mini is actually pretty room. The trick is getting that low to the ground. LOL Haven't had much rain to wash cars, so the Monte stayed in the sged. It is filthy!

Looks like y'all had a blast whis I could been there. None the less the wife and I had a good time at the Outter Banks and I did hook up with my old Army buddy from way back when, lots to talk about and old photos of us in our hay days. We also got to do some sight seeing, seen the wild houses of Corolla, Hatteras Lighthouse,Wright Brothers thing to name a few. Looking forward to seeing some of you in Kissimmee.
