MY brother rebuilt the CCC on my 1987 MCSS motor 20k orig. miles. Carb was leaking from one of the gaskets. Hence reason for rebuild. So I bought a kit from Advance, he swapped everything out. Put it on the car and fuel was coming out everywhere but the gaskets!!! So, bought a new float, swapped in old needle and seat. Pretty much same thing, maybe a little less fuel.
Any ideas? Btw my brother has rebuilt MANY carbs before and never had this issue.

Just time for a few questions.
Have you installed a perf fuel pump? Fuel is leaking from where, primary venturi, vent? When the little hook on the needle was installed on the float it wasn't put into one of the slots in the float? A no no! Float height was set correctly and a check was made to unsure the float wasn't binding against the MC or bowl walls? A "high perf" needle and seat wasn't installed? Bigger than .035" may cause flooding with higher pressures. Bob

All stock. My brother rebuilt it so I'm unsure of the spring or float binding. Seems like it's coming out of the vent. Car only runs for a little while then dies i get out and see fuel all over the top of the carb.

check to make sure all the screws are in place and tight. is it possible that he left a small piece of the old gasket under the airhorn or something stupid like that?

Oh great, a chicken diner, is that for two? Good to see you found the problem. Bob
