Great info. My 87 glove box light is a plug in bulb not a socket like the 1895. Any more info? Again, great find.

Thats an exellent list.......Someone should sell a kit that includes all the bulbs for the whole car. Great Idea, I'll give it a shot and create a bulb kit and get the price and see if it sells. Thanks for posting this 83.

168, 194 or 2825
they're all the same base, the only difference is the output. the factory 168 are only about 38 Lumens, the 194's are 25 lumens, but the 2825 are the brightest at 50 lumens.

I thought I'd chime in on this thread with my LED lighting experience. After researching the LED light options, I decided to splurge on Sylvania bulbs for the dash after seeing some other people's experience with the cheaper kind burning out a lot. You can buy the high-end Sylvania bulbs for the dash and rear license area here: http://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-2825-Premium-White-Miniature/dp/B00AIJY2ZMHere is a photo of my dash lit up at night, no assistance from street lights or otherwise. My signature has a photo of the license area under the same conditions. (And incase someone is judging my mileage - it's a Canadian car so that's km's on the odometer and it's been around once; I replaced the face from an El Camino in a US junkyard when I relocated) That one dead area in the gear indicator area is somewhat unavoidable due to the bulky indicator mechanism blocking even the brightest light almost completely. Still, never imagined my dash could be so brilliant. Close to $100 in premium LED lightbulbs to do the dash and license area. The cheap bulbs with the multiple "light pads" on them might work for a time, though from what I hear, they're going to burn out on you in short order. I hope this is useful info for someone!

What about the turn signal indicator in the dash You can go to the Album using the link at the top of this(or any) page and in the Search box type in Lamp Bulb Specifications to view every original bulb requirement. The page I posted there is from my original 'Owner's Manual'.

This list is a BIG help. I'm doing some upgrades to my '79. Had more than a few folks mention that my brake lights are not the easiest to see during the dayight. I used this post & Rockauto as a guide. Figured I'd replace most of the bulbs around the outside outside and the instrument panel ones as well as they are mostly original and, in the case of the instrument panel, some are burn't out too. Some of my PNs differ from the list, but I figure that is normal with mine being a 3rd gen. I have the OEM PN as well as what RockAuto calls "Maximum Brightness" listed below. Most of the Max Brightness are the PHILIPS CrystalVision series. Thought about LED, but that gets a tad pricey. 3 questions. - Do I have accurate OEM and Max Bright PNs?
- How many of each do I need?
- Am I missing any that I SHOULD upgrade?
- Is there a PN for upgrading the engine compartment light socket? The internal mercury switch crapped out on mine, so I ditched it.
- Any downside in going to the "Maximum Brightness" Bulbs?
- If memory serves, the 1157 Brake light bulb does the rear turn signal as well?
 Thanks in advance, Russ
