I'm hauling my junk up to gainesville again this wednesday night for test and tune. I'm hoping this trip turns out better than the last one . It'll be nice to see what a good trans, and the weightloss has done. I'll try to get some vids of it. Jamie

Just took it around the block... putt, putt, putt, real slow like . It sounds so friggin mean, I can't do anything ore than idle around w/ it or the neighbors will throw me in the clink. it seems to be shifting fine, They are soft@ idle, below the 4000 stall, but it is definately shifting. It seems to hold 1st also, so it does indeed have a shift kit in it. Temp even w/ the fans off never went over 190, so everything is a go Now just time to throw the camera on the charger.

Changed the oil today, I noticed a small , small drip from the electric waterpump. I'm going to fix that tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I ran the car today after the oil change trying to get some heat in it. I left the fans off and got it up to 210, turned the fans on high and it dropped like a rock to under 150(too cold) . I then put the fans on low, and let it idle. Temps got up to about 160-165 . THE CAR IS RUNNING SO GOOD IT IS SCARING ME!!! It's like it isn't my car, and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop!! It sat at idle at 160 for over 10 minutes. The idle never faltered, the engine didn't load up, I'M TELLING YOU THIS THING IS RUNNING LIKE A TOP!!! I'm all prepared for the usual re-jetting, and timing show tomorrow night, but damn man If this trans holds up, we'll see some new best ET's I TRULY AM SHOCKED, THIS DOESN'T FEEL LIKE MY CAR Jamie

Amazing what a difference a crap intake gasket/ massive vacuum leak will do to your performance LOL, No kidding! Great to hear the car is running so well!

Yup . I destroyed the rear . The remnants of my posi are wedged between the case and the ring gear . I have to take my hat off to the trick flow support cover. THAT is the only thing that kept that rear end together and prevented a track oil down. HEHe, well... With a little luck I'll get it fixed before the season ends. I knew it was running to good

if you are running the stock Axles then you will have a weak point but the 8.5's are strong. The spools with aftermarket axles will keep you in business for a little bit more
There is a guy runnin 10.802 with a 396 procharged impala weighing 4261 lbs with a 8.5 with aftermarket axles.

What tranny are you running? If its a turbo 400 take it apart and see what you find, they're easy to work on. You shouldn't be having that much trouble. With the rear broken do you know for sure the trans is broken too?

Looks like the front pinion bearing went out in the rear end. Or a loose pinion nut. When you let off, it's was pulled into the carrier.
