I'm assuming the front suspension is unaligned at the moment?

Reason I ask is that there's some serious negative camber on the front tires in those two pictures!

yeah lol I know! its unaligned right now and without the weight of body and a motor it makes no sence to align the front. i'll adjust the upper a-arms when I'll put in a motor and the body back on and then later bring the whole car to the alignment shop wink smile

I cut mine off so the bottom of the dash sticks out 1 inch in front of the side kick panel . I was going to cut it again to bring it even with the kick panel on the bottom , that would have been one more inch . I decided to leave it stick out as far as I could to leave as much room as possible under the dash because of the heater . It looks like you cut off more then I did . My center gauge sits right at the joint for the tilt wheel . My goal was to bring the dash closer to the driver for an in your face look with out interfering with anything . The dash looks like it came in the car originally . I bought a new glove box insert which will have to have a corner cut off to clear the heater because of depth problems , no big deal . The brackets will go from the two center speaker holes that are left out of the four that were there to hold the old speaker in , to the original lip that the old dash laid on which I‘ll cover with a piece of the fuzzy half of Velcro to keep metal from metal contact . This will be done so it can be mounted from the top and the grill snapped in to cover it up when done . The welded end caps should be made big enough so you can mount it to the side kick panels from underneath with a screw / bolt . I’ll leave it at that and check if it needs more anchor points , then add as needed . The heater gets in the way of most everything , I’ll just deal with it as I go . I sandblasted it first so I could prime it , it makes it easier to see the marks and the lay out points I drew on it before cutting , nice and clean . It’s unbelievable how much I love this dash and how great it looks in it . Even my wife thought it looks great . The most important thing to me is it look as if it came with it from the factory !! I bought two extra ashtrays that I’ll use the skins off of to close in where the old heater controls and anything else , there already the contour of the dash , easier then bending my own . I’m welding on a skirt at the bottom of the dash for the vents , I’ll do that after the console is located so they flow into it and give the look as if they continue down as part of the console . All this can be done anyway you want for what ever look your looking for . There is no right or wrong .

If your not going back with your heater you can weld angles along the bottom of the dash and bolt anywhere , much easier .

Adam ,
The reason for the 59 /60 dash for me was the fact the passenger side has the same basic profile as the drivers side . The gauge pods will be about as far out as the original was but the difference being the passenger side comes out also . It gives it the feeling of seating in what feels like a control center with everything somewhat around you . Any dash from the mid 50’s to the mid 60’s will be installed basically the same way . The one difference with the 59 / 60 dash over the others is there is a definite center line to follow with the big gauge and column . Our column doesn’t line up center if you cut equal amounts off each end of the dash . It’s about 3/8’s off of center . This would not be an issue with any other dash .

The other choose was 60 corvette which if you look at it has somewhat of the same profile . All metal wins every time . I relies that this isn’t for everyone , but I’m not a fan of plastic . It’s fine in my everyday driver , but it’s so nice to make it anyway you want by welding and cutting here and there .
