a 200 doesn't have a lockup....200R4? Not trying to bust your chops just making sure you get the right answer!

Do you still have the connector that was plugged into the trans when you had th ecomputer?

I wired mine to a toggle switch. It was fairly easy to do and very cheap too.

You need to know if your 4th gear pressure switch is normally open or closed. Use an ohm meter and measure the resistance between the green/white wire and ground. If it reads near 0 ohms then your switch is normally closed.

If your switch is normally closed, you will need to use a relay. I made a couple quick pictures to explain it.
The first picture is when the car is not in 4th gear. The coil of the relay is energized and the tan/blk wire is not connected to ground.

The next pic is when the car is in 4th gear. The 4th gear pressure switch is open, which deenergizes the coil. This connects the Tan/Blk wire to ground when the toggle switch is on.

Hope that helps.

Just a regular power diode will be fine. Anything in the 1N4001-1N4007 range will be fine. The diode isnt necessary for it to work. It will just minimize the electrical noise whenever the relay turns on or off.

There should be a tan/black wire coming off the transmission along with a purple and green/white wire.

I put my relay where the Check Engine Light Driver module is. All the wires I needed were in that area. +12V, GND from the light module and the 3 wires for the transmission from the computer harness. I had just cut the computer harness right by the fender in the engine bay. I just had to reattach the 3 transmission wires there and then find them on the inside.

Would something like this work on a th350c? And, if you accidently leave it locked will the car just die or will it hurt the transmission?

nice schematic by the way JRZ126 . 84 supersport if your transmission as only one wire and I think its green you need a positive feed as the solenoid is grounded inside the transmission so you need 12 volt to turn it on or (engage it).

I'll have to find the plug and look. The harness is stashed away in a box somewhere.

i find not all 200-4r have the 4th gear switch... mine just has the purple and tan/blk wires from the trans... and no position in the connector to add the wire.. just be aware of that..

Mostly just the GrandNats/TR's & TTA's had the 3rd pressure switch & 4th Pr. switch. All others just had 4th gear switch.
