Is it just me, or does that site calculate backspacing wrong?

I put in an 8" wide rim with 0mm offset. That should make for 4" of backspacing, and its giving me 4.5" The way the dimension is drawn even looks like half of the wheel width.

remember its giving you the backspacing to the rim EDGE ,not the tire monting edge ,its 8inches to the INSIDE of the lips,on most wheels a 8 inch wide wheel is 8inches to the inside and 9 inches total with on the OUTSIDE of the edges.

that'd be it. They estimate the width of the wheel lip at a half inch it looks like.

Thanks

Also a handy tool when changing tire sizes or gear ratios, this is for changing the speedo gears to keep your speedometer correct.

I would go with a 15 x 8 rim with 4" BS. 275/50r15 tire and you should have no probs.

A 275/60r15 is too tall and your gear ratio and speedpo will be off.

...Bo;;

5 inch bs in the (stock) rear is pushing it without modifications or at least spacers.

I run 19X9.5 on the rear lowered 3" without spacers. I just had to massage the inner sheet metal just above the frame a hair. If you have the rear centered (sometimes requires adjustable uppers because of the tolerances), it works.
