Looks like my fuel pump has retired.. leaking fuel. I’ve found three line replacements, any input on brand as reading quality isn’t the best these days. Coincidence this failed after installing rebuilt carb?. Not leaking from the carb, followed the line down to the fuel pump. Appears to be accumulating on the block side of the pump where the upper and lower half’s join and migrating to the front of the pump. All stock 305. Thanks.

I have done lots of reasearch on the fuel pumps and I don't think you are going to find one better than the others for the 305. Unfortunately I think you buy one and be ready to check fuel pressure and plumb in a regulator. Best case buy one check the pressure and hope to get lucky and not need a regulator.

How’s an easy way to hook up a fuel pressure gauge? I'm not sure of an easy way so someone might be able to help you but here's what I use. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/pCR9v9n.jpeg) ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/Qxvuqae.jpeg) Here is what I used to assemble: Midland 38-874 Brass Inverted Flare Male Swivel, 90 Degree Elbow, 3/8" Hose ID x 3/8" Tube OD https://a.co/d/fu0qDd12- EDGE INDUSTRIAL 3/8" Hose ID to 3/8" 45° Male Flare Straight Brass Fitting Fuel / AIR / Water / Oil / Gas / WOG (Qty 01) https://a.co/d/40cg0caEaton Weatherhead 3700X4 Brass CA360 Fitting, Tee, 1/4"NPT Female https://a.co/d/hobcd9wMEANLIN MEASURE 0~15Psi Stainless Steel 1/8" NPT 1.5" FACE DIAL, Glycerin Filled Fuel Pressure Gauge, Liquid Filled Pressure Gauge WOG Water Oil Gas Center Back Mount https://a.co/d/bgyKNKfLDR Industries 516F385 5' Bag Fuel Line, 3/8" https://a.co/d/1J3Y5mpI'm missing one more of the links to the fitting bit I'll try to find it tonight.

Various repair manuals list widely different fuel pressures for stock MCSSs. One issue I think is that LG4s and L69s likely use different fuel pressures which repair manuals often don't differentiate specs between the two. The fuel pressure setting I agree with for a HO L69 is 9 psi.

Thanks 88ssBrent, perfect. Buick Runner, you’re not having any issues running 9 PSI?

Cliff Ruggles states that later Qjets can run up to 9 psi without issues with the .135 needle valve. I still had to use a regulator to knock the fuel pressure down to 9 psi as the replacement pump was putting out over 10 psi, it pegged my pressure gauge at idle.

That make since know, thought you found something that actually was 9 PSI or less without a regulator. What the opinion on NOS pumps, have a lead on one
