Has anyone installed the new Sure Fit Vintage Air system that is specific for the 82-88 Monte Carlo?
I would love some interior and engine bay pictures if you have.

It looks like it saves a bunch of space in the engine compartment.
The previous owner of my car removed the compressor, condesor, drier and vacuum bulb so to go back to AC I need to buy those things anyway, it seems to me an upgrade to a new vehicle specific system may be the way to go.

One negative point I am hung up on. On the interior the system appears to hang down a bit below the dash and the drain is below that and actually drilled through the carpet and firewall.
I am having trouble with that bit of it, see picture link below.
Someone's actual install pictures would be great to see if I can live with the interior details.

it takes your entire glove box and you need to make or buy metal for wiper area stick with stock or none at all

I went through the install instructions and contacted Vintage Air today on the wiper area. The kit comes with the metal piece for the wiper area and they noted no metal fab is needed for the install so I think that issue has been resolved.

The glove box is something that gets modified but I dont feel that strongly about the glove box size. Its a stuff catcher and the more volume the more stuff that gets crammed in there. I can't think of anything I really need the glove box for.

The visual on the drain on the interior is my biggest hang up still.
I do like that this system eliminates the need for vacuum control and is an update 134 system. Additionally the condenser holds the drier and that tucks in near the radiator so it cleans up the firewall quite a bit.

Seems like no one here has done one yet so I may be the guinea pig on it.

I think overall it looks like a nice complete kit and price is decent if you were starting from scratch putting air back in a car. The only thing that has me curious is if the firewall cover could be welded in to make a complete metal firewall and how accessible would everything be from inside? Condenser kit alone looks nice and would be a nice addition. I would have no problem with glove box size, I will follow along if you go forward with it so keep us up too date.

I just did a upgrade a while back on my serpentine and ac system and can say I am very happy with it.
