At very minimum I fried both battery cables, and finding zero availability of the positive side. Interested in either new or used. For 1988 SS in case of differences in trims or engines.

Thanks, and I did check online and nope. I just got off the phone with Mike and he has none. Now I'm hunting for what's turning out to be the elusive exact GM 8-digit especially for the Pos+ so I can search some more.
And I found more than one online supplier referencing a GM No. Neg- cable for the Pos+ application. ::Grrrrr::

I know you are looking for stock gm battery cables but if you are looking for an outside option I recommend ce auto electric supply. They have a cable builder with gm style ends and you can custom make the cables and the price is not bad. The main difference is the cable is high strand oxygen free copper which is a huge plus. My cables are upsized and different lengths for different setups. Here is cable builder, you can scroll down and build your cable. https://ceautoelectricsupply.com/custom-cable-builder/
Here is a picture of 2 different ones I've had made. I k

Thanks there for the quick reply, Mr. -Brent. They look to be v. high quality builds. I'm tearing out the old ones tomorrow and will get to measuring things up.

Brent, just got my CEA cables installed. All new power and grounds in #4AWG with exception of starter power in #2AWG. Thanks to you and Kevin/BadSS. Built each of my wires as separate so as not to be limited to a #8 on second wire per CEA custom build options (ieI think these would have been for alternator power and chassis grounds?). Adds one extra lug on each battery terminal. Love the tinned oxygen free copper. (OFC). Even the #2 handles like a piece of licorice! Supple!

88 - measure your old cable lengths and lug size. Choose color of cable and heat shrink and they can give you that OE look on the side terminals if you want. Suggest #4 with #8 secondary if you want combined as Brent and original. I'd give you my old ones but they have been, well, let's say compromised.

Good hunting,
Gordon

Gordon, I am glad to hear you were able to get that part of your project knocked out. I have been very pleased with everything I have gotten from ce auto electric and its not worth me trying to build the cables with the price he charges.

88, here is a receipt from my last cable build, it was for my serpentine that moved my alternator from driver to passenger side. One cable was 78" the other was 24" after all the ends and cable shipped to my door
I didn't feel $52 dollars was bad. The first one in above picture that was close to stock was around $30 shipped. With the options he offers you can do the cables like your gm only with a nice twist of new as far as cable technology. As Gordon pointed out if you look at the cable configuration on my receipt their is tons of options.
