I tried to include enough terms in the title to aid future searchers. I'm rebuilding the oem CCC dist. and need a parts blow-up diagram mostly for the lower end. There are numerous sample generic pic illustrations using regular browser search showing various sbc HEI units, but all lack better detail of our specific years' CCC version. The pics all match in that the metal washer with 3 tangs slips into the casting and then the thrust washer after that. A couple questions remain:

-Is there a specific dial-in for play between the thrust washer and installed gear? There's a write-up online about the gear 'walking up' under load, but it seems that it's best to leave it be. For ref. mine is ~.020 play with gear at installed position.

-The questioned fiber washer in the pic was in the same box of parts, and wondering if it has a place on the dist. besides the labeled fiber gasket for the intake. It does not have the right i.d. to look like it fits anywhere.

When I get home this evening I will see what I can dig up as far as a drawing.

Thanks for the prompt comeback, and the effort looking. I noticed I forgot to mention how surprised to find just about zero anywhere in the B-/G-body FSM regarding the distributor at all! But also reminded leafing through hundreds of pages that it's about the most detailed for diagnostics decision trees and procedures for everything about the car as I've seen.

And I intentionally left off the little reference I found in one write-up online regarding an O-ring installed in a land near the gear. You see this distributor has a grooved land as well, but it's way too wide to provide any seating for an O-ring. Plus, the fit is so tight when installing the last 1/2" into the block that any O-ring at all would definitely not permit complete seating.

And for future searchers, the whole reason for tearing down the dist. in the first place was reading that roller lifter cams require a 'mellanized' dist. gear. Sure enough, the original one was gnawed down to very thin teeth and not far from failing altogether. That's when I also recall reading on here many years back about the cracking of the rotating disc (?induction rotor sounds like a fitting name). Sure enough, I had a crack and recently replaced it - thread here:

I recently changed to a roller cam and had to swap out for the melonized gear.

Another part no. for reference. Notice the affect of a roller cam on a 'non'-melonized gear:

And I learned just recently (reading more carefully) the dimple is to line up with the rotor lead
