Nice Sunny Hawaii
Aloha guys.

I meant to ask this from long time ago and just didn't get around to it (truth is, I'm getting old and just keep forgetting.....................).

Anyway, as the title reads, I have a really loose parking brake release handle. Also, the handle does not retract on it's own, and I need to push it back manually. My original handle did retract on it's own, but I had to replace it because the handle broke (can't remember if the handle broke or cable snapped). Ever since, it does not retract on it's own.

I haven't pull off the driver side panel yet to take a look as I'm still dialing in the carb right now (white smoke is gone at the moment). At the same time, I need to work on my DD Lincoln for rear wheel bearing replacement (weather is not cooperating right now). can anyone shed some light on this? New cable perhaps? I can't remember if the replacement was used or new as it was while back.

Any thought?

The E-brake release on the dash has no return spring on it, just a T-handle and a short cable. The return spring is part of the mech for the E-brake. Look at the mech on the left kick panel area and you may see the return spring may be broke or missing.

Thanks Bob. Been busy with my DD Lincoln so haven't pull the panel off yet. As soon as I finish with my Lincoln, I'll go ahead and take a look!
