That's basically how any photo hosting site works, then all you have to do is copy/paste a link to the image.

It's one more step and I believe it avoids potential issues with viruses being uploaded to the site.

Once your pics are in Photobucket, hover over the pic. An option box will open and show 4 types of custom links that can be copied. Click once on the "IMG" code (in the window), it copies, paste it in your post on a new line all by itself and it will work.

I've just started using Imgur and can't upload pics from it in spite of following the directions.

I'm not familiar with Imgur. But in your other post in the test topic, the link doesn't go to an image. The link needs to point to a file ending in .JPG or .GIF.

Thanks,Paul. I went to Imgur and all the info was there now that allowed me to post pics. Maybe it was because I'm new there.
Photobucket was getting to be a pain to use.

I just found out that imgur images can be resized by using a s,m or l at the end of the filename but before the .jpg
so my monte.jpg on the imagur site can be called montes.jpg or montem.jpg or montel.jpg

This will give you a much smaller image to post. I redid my whole build blog thread with the M tag. Makes it much easier to read. Doesn't jump around as it loads all the images.

I got real fancy and wrapped all the image tags in a URL tag to the full sized image

code looks like this
Code:
[url=http://imgur.com/VEl9iJx.jpg][img]http://imgur.com/VEl9iJxm.jpg[/img][/url]

I have a question. Is the max image file size still 200K?

Thanks,
Fred

The file size limit has not changed. It's in place to keep disk storage from exploding.
