Hey folks,

Over the years, my bucket seat headrests have become distorted by the seat belt guides. It seems as if the seat belt guides were simply bolted directly into the semi-hard foam? The screws don't even want to stay in for the seat belt guides any more, the seatbelt guides droop towards the back/lower part of the car, and the headrests are starting to simply look generally ugly from being distorted.

Anyone else here dealt with this? Another member posted recently about replacement seat buns, but I'm not finding anything anywhere about replacement g-body bucket seat headrests other than fabric covers.

Yep, fixed that problem many ,many years ago. The 3rd Gen F-body seat belt guides attach just like the Monte, have the same footprint and are a closed loop. The loop and belt doesn't pull on the headrest like the SS one does. Just google 3rd Gen Camaro seat belt guide for sale, and a link to OPG, Hawks or one of the 3rd Camaro parts venders will show the part, And now listed for use in a G-body on OPG, go figure.
I think I paid a dollar for a pair of matching gray at the U-pull back then. My, times have changed.

So I suppose you are talking about these?

Seat Belt Guides, 78-88 G-Body, Closed Loop

What is it about that design that makes it not pull on the headrest like the originals? What did you do about the warped headrest foam and torn screw holes? Or did you get to it before it was too late?

Thanks very much for the info!

4th gen f-bodies also have interchangeable headrest/seat belt guides. I wanted to keep the originals on my SS, but changed the ones on my LS, found some matching gray ones that have a slit for the seatbelt, there are some without, a few variations to choose from between the 3rd and 4th gens. I'll try to find or take a picture.
