For some time now Maple Grove Raceway has been for sale, many lookers, notable funny car owners looked at it. In the local newspaper today it looks like a deal is done with a group of local racers from the King of Prussia area. They are saying they want to expand it's venues to include, kart tracks, driver training for the officers of the law and the youth, a drift car track, AND possibly an autox area. That would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

I have done an autox twice in the Maple Grove pit area, it was an OK course but need to be more dedicated to autox than someplace to park a car hauler for drag racing. I've also made a hundred passes down that 1/4 mile over the years. Also have been to dozens of Spring swap meets, numerous Super Chevy shows, the Keystone Nationals, can only hope that the new owners can make Maple Grove a multi purpose facility that caters to the drivers and not their pocketbooks, as before. And the local gov't it seems is encouraging broadening the track uses, more tax money going to a very rural area.

Last year never got to autox my car. My local SCCA Blue Mountain region has a very hard time finding an autox parking lot, has done about 5 events in the past 6 years. Only one last year was a thrown together, last minute, cold rainy day in Morgantown at:

The SCCA Susquehanna region I have ran at Harrisburg and Hershey Park parking lots. For 2019 they lost both those lots to run events, they managed to run a couple events in a small lot late in the Summer. not good. Couldn't make to either of them.
I've run a couple times with the SCCA Philly guys several years ago. Didn't care much for the old airport runway in Warmister Park. To close to Philly with it's traffic issues to deal with.

In the newspaper article above it doesn't mention autox "coming soon" but the local SCCA guys are buzzing with other info of the sale and more forms of racing besides drags. Me I'm ecstatic, maybe some place i can get to in a 1/2 hour instead of getting up a 5 am to to run at 9, or later. And be able to do it several times over the season. Some things I've learned about autox, old, slow, and tired make it difficult to avoid cones. Typically for me it's a 13 hour day to make 4 sub minute runs at an event. Being only a 1/2 hour away cuts that to maybe 10 hours and a shorter drive home. Man I hope all this is true.

Last years Chevy show sucked. Frank and I decided not to go back this year after attending many many years. Hope they can and will do something to make the show more appealing and bring back the cars.
