1987 T-top SS. No rust ever. It was found in storage with no drive train or interior. The last time it was plated was 1992. 64,000 original miles. No one could find the last owner. I did a carfax, State highway patrol, local police and state license office in Jefferson City MO. To receive a clear and clean title it had to appraised and a bond set for the appraisal amount. So, it is NOT a prior salvage or rebuilt title. It is a clean, clear, bonded title.
This has been a 3 year project that was worked on pretty often. Its finally finished and its time to move on to the next one.
From day one the brakes were all replaced, fluids were all replaced ( synthetic oil, trans fluid and filter, rear end lube ) Hoses and belts replaced. I even replaced every 1157, 1156, and side marker bulbs. All 4 shocks were replaced with upgraded gas units. The interior ( from my 87 parts car ) has had complete new upholstery from Mike's Montes. The dash is in better than average condition with no cracks. New headliner, door panels are really nice. New windshield too.
The body was stripped down and very few dings were fixed. 78 Trans am louvers were welded into the front fenders. The hood is a hand built 68 Pontiac GTO that was mated to the factory original. The grill was modified to look like horizontal bars. The body was then primed and blocked several times. Sealed and then painted in a 4 color fade that starts in front as a deep red ( Fire glow ) then to Burgundy, then to Cranberry pearl and then to Black. There is pearl and gold flake in the clear. On the hood and trunk lid there are graphics too. Blocked and re-cleared and then blocked and buffed.
There are new weatherstrips on the doors and new window sweeps Soffseal again from Mike's Montes.
The complete under side of the car has been under coated and the inside parts of the doors, fenders, and quarters have been rust proofed with rust fighter wax.
The drive train came from my parts car that had 70k miles but, was a rust bucket. Motor was detailed a bit. Electric fuel pump, New Edelbrock 1306 carb. New 2.5 inch exhaust with single chamber turbo mufflers that turn down in front of the axle.
The wheels are after market aluminum alloys with new tires on front and like new tires on the rear.
Cash price is 8500. If you have a 83-88 SS Monte project. I might consider a part trade.
