I put new springs in the front of my 84 non ss because it sagged badly with the v8 in it now.i got the heaviest springs we could find and it was a nitemare to get them in.i like the front of the car up high and firm.the suspension would not budge at all .it was too dangerous to try and get them out so we torched them out.i gat another set that were just heavy duty but for the car.they went in ok and its sitting up high as I would want it but the driver side is not indexed properly in the lower control arm.on a bump it makes a bad noise because its not centered in the pocket.can I somehow twist into position without separating the upper balljoint?

If you use an internal spring compressor, you can compress the spring enough to rotate the spring, and then uncompress it.

I looked at it closer and the bottom is indexed right but the top is not centered .ill still need to compress it to try to get it in.at least now I don't have to twist it into place.

got it back in place.i used the internal compressor but had to put the lower clamp on the outside of the control arm.i was able to compress it and pry it into position.
