I've been thinking about the possibility of having some Z65 emblems or decals made up for a long time (as far back as the early 90s). I guess the main reason I haven't is that probably only the hardcore SS folks would know what it means. I figure it would be a good conversation point to those that would ask but some might think I'd be trying to make the car something it's not (unknowingly).

The latest design is based off the latest Z06 "Supercharged" badge. Decals wouldn't be all that expensive and with all the 3D printers out there emblems probably wouldn't be all that expensive either - especially if there was a bulk order. Would anyone be interested in a 3 piece set (two larger ones for doors or fender and a smaller one for trunk) if I were to get something like below made up? All I had to use was paint to make the rendering, so it'll look a lot better done by someone with the appropriate design software. Just trying to figure out opinions on whether to pursue it or not.

I like it, but the "Monte Carlo" should stand out more

If I were to move on this, I'd take it to someone that had the software to do them right. I'd want the font for the Monte Carlo to match up with the factory font. I updated it a little with the closest font I had available to use to get it close.

If I did decals, the "Monte Carlo" would have to be darker like below (as suggested).

If I get the emblems done, I'm leaning toward a brushed stainless with the "Z" recessed and painted red (stainless outline) and the "Monte Carlo" recessed without any paint.- like the Z06 emblem below.

Original owner of 1985 SS black hardtop w/gray interior. Frame-on restoration - 406 sleeper w/ heavily ported FIRST TPI. However the 1.875" headers, 3.5" duals, TH400, Ford 9", notched frame, and 10-point cage w/swing-out bars might tip you off it's not a lil' ole 305 TPI. Other mods: 2" drop, 18" wheels, f/r disk brakes, and custom stereo system.

I think it's kind of cool but actually prefer just the Z65 without anything underneath. Or, if picking something the factory font would be fitting otherwise it almost looks too new or out of place.

Z65 is the RPO code for the SS.
