You are flat towing (all 4 of the monte's wheels on the ground) for that long? What are you using for a tow vehicle and dolly/tow bar device?

If you are towing it that long then yes, disconnect the driveshaft.

Pull the driveshaft for sure. Unless you want a good reason to buy a new transmission...

Sometimes you just need a bigger hammer...

Post a photo of the tow bar you are using, I have never seen a G-Body flat tow on all four. Make sure the steering is unlocked. Suburban will have a tough time braking, take it slow.
The Monte will also need to be legally registered.

Could you rent a flat bed trailer to put it on and tow that ? It sounds like that would be a lot less hassle, no DS removal and what not,,, that's what I did when I had to tow my daily driver 1000 miles home when it blew a head gasket in Colorado, drove it on, strapped it down and hit the road with a rented tow vehicle.

Are the bumper shocks safe to pull on?

What part of the bumper does this tow bar "bolt" to? Past experience with RV's towing dinghy vehicles, the tow bar attaches to welded baseplates to the frame behind the bumper. You need a solid attachment or the Monte will sway and swerve. Consider putting the car on a U-Haul trailer behind the Suburban.
Check BlueOx for baseplates..

Uhaul wants $400.00 for tow dolly and I still have to remove driveshaft.Tow trailer is $800.00 dollars.Transporters want $900 to $1200.It's snow bird season so rates are high.(Crooks).

You could buy a car trailer like this for $2000 in New York and sell it when you get to Florida for the same price.

Find someone to drive the car, or the Burb if you don't trust anyone to drive the Monte!!

I be worried that the NYC car will have hidden rust issues. Especially since all the mid Atlantic cities go apecrap with road salt at the slightest chance of a snow shower. Expect tbat at least the number 2, passenger sidd body mount to require repair work. Even my 08 CVPI needed a little rocker repair from rust.
