Good afternoon ,
its been a while since I posted anything, but I came across a 1993 Corvette LT1 engine w/ 4L60e automatic transmission. I wanted to know if I'm going to stumble across any issues doing this swap. I have a 87 MCSS w/ stock 5.0l and 200r4, they have a few issues that can be fixed , but decided to buy this pull out since I bought it for 1k.
I review some threads, but most comments were from the f body.
any feedback would be highly appreciated.

You may run into some issues with the optispark on the 93 model. I believe it was upgraded in 94 to include vents on it, the engine vacuum would pull air in from the air intake (after the filter) & cycle it through the opti to remove moisture. The 93 was prone to missfire because it didnt have it. I did this swap with the F body engine, it had the AC compressor low on passenger side & the back mount for it used one of the motor mount bosses. I believe the Vette AC is mounted up high, so you wont have this problem. This engine block is pretty much the same dimensions as the 305, so no major fabrication needed, can use the stock Monte motor mounts. You will probably need to do some work on the transmission, & have driveshaft shortened. You will need a high pressure fuel pump, I just used a Grand National sending unit in the stock tank and upgraded the rubber hoses to high pressure hose. When fuel is low you may get some fuel starvation issues when it moves away from the pickup when cornering. You can get a baffled tank if you have the $. You will need to remove the check engine lamp driver in the car, LT1 ECM has it built into it. Also remove the filter on the firewall for the tach, don't need that either.

This reply is going to be every where . ( I'm thinking of everything and typing at the same time.)

Awesome! excuse my ignorance, but i will have a lot of questions.

The motor has 65k miles on it ; Should I or would I be able to upgrade the optispark to have the vents? Do I need to make any changes to the my MCSS rear end?

My transmission cable needs to be replaced. Would I be able to use the oem trans cable?

I would like to hook up ac.

how about the wiring? would i be able connect to the some of the original MCSS ?

I can't remember if the optisparks are interchangeable. Found out it is the 95 opti that has the vents. You can read up on it here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forum...ition-control-module-1993-vs-1995-a.html

Should be ok with the stock rearend, unless you are hard on it. Slicks on sticky dragstrip might be bad for it.

Dunno about the trans cable.

AC shouldnt be too hard, possibly need some custom hoses.

Wiring: I had the factory LT1 harness reworked to remove what I didnt need, then it was basically standalone harness. It had wires for the check engine light, & tach. The rest use the stock Monte sending units (temp, oil pressure)

Looks like the drive is different between the old/newer style optispark. But looks like this one from Dynaspark is made with the vent hoses on the older style opti.
