Anyone else dislike ghetto'd out Montes? Taking a very nice stock one and transforming it into a mess.
I can see upgrading the wheels to maybe 17s and maybe a small cowl induction hood.
But some of the crap I see on FB and YouTube is just shameful

No, not my cup of tea but like everything, car modifications is beauty in the eye of the beholder. The whole idea behind the Donk fad is to shock the senses, it's meant to be noticed. The mods usually end up destroying the car, drying up the supply of G-Bodies and making what's left more rare and valuable. Kind of a win if you look at it that way.

ehh, I ain't about to criticize what another person does with their own property. I don't own it. It's not my fault if the 26 spline axles let go, or the suspension is ruined and unsafe...

same thing goes for lifted trucks...

Not my cup of tea either, but to each their own. They just need to make sure they use quality studs and adapters or could end up like this guy.

Original owner of 1985 SS black hardtop w/gray interior. Frame-on restoration - 406 sleeper w/ heavily ported FIRST TPI. However the 1.875" headers, 3.5" duals, TH400, Ford 9", notched frame, and 10-point cage w/swing-out bars might tip you off it's not a lil' ole 305 TPI. Other mods: 2" drop, 18" wheels, f/r disk brakes, and custom stereo system.

I'm sure the dirt tracks have ruined more Montes than big rim guys ever will.

There's another video out there of this. I don't think he had adapters. Looked like a rear disk conversion when they did a walk around of the car. I didn't see adapters on the disks (though it is dark in the video). Also didn't see any sign of them on the wheels.
