Hey guys.
Planning on replacing the weatherstripping on my 86 SS once the weather warms up. I plan on purchasing the kit from Mikes Montes. Any suggestions or tips on taking off the old and installing the new?
Thanks!

If your oem lower door seals are still good I suggest keeping them. Aftermarket lower door seals do not fit correctly, the end pads are molded all wrong, and GM has stopped making replacements. Aftermarket roof rail seals fit ok. Worn door hinges will through off the door adjustment and make seals not fit either.

Make sure you aren't working in the cold, warming the rubber up makes it much easier to use. Lay the piece in the sun etc if you can.
Taking out the old stuff just required a couple of small screwdrivers, pocket knife, picks, etc. and some time. Small screwdrivers were probably the most helpful tools I used.
Install dry to make sure everything fits right and is properly stretched, then glue afterwards.

Sometimes you just need a bigger hammer...

It ain't much off the line, but it's nice on the highway
