I'm confident the C5 rotor will fit, and I've seen a picture out there somewhere.....I'll start checking as well.

I've got the old school B-body/1LE brakes now which will fit inside a stock N90.

I'm fairly certain it will, I searched for this very info not that long ago and found a thread where someone confirmed it or is even running this combination.

While not the exact answer to your question, there is this: N90's with Baer's 13 inch rotor, Track4 system.

I remember a couple years back, a member of the forum installed C5 front brakes with 17" N90 rims. He posted pics that showed that the C5 brakes did fit.

Thanks everybody ! I am ready to pull the trigger on the next upgrade ( brakes) which I need badly upfront , my QUICK PERF 9"- 11 " drum brakes over powers the fronts. BTW, 200kss that is one nice monte !I read about it some time back, guess I forgot his set up.

Now, WHAT spindles to use!!! I drive my car hard on the weekends through some nice twisties ( used to doit on sport bikes )and I live fairly close to 2 drag strips and Sebring. I am thinking the ZQ8 with bigger bearings? I think Marcus from SC&C recommends it for the C5 platform.

Baer 11" SS4+ and 13" Track 4 work well with the Year One wheels. We`ve used them with a few models with no issues. C5/C6 brakes will not work (without a fairly thick spacer which would throw off the back spacing and be hokey anyway...). The mounting pad on the back side of the Year One wheels is just too short to work with the C5/C6 very shallow .400" rotor hat depth. We do a custom SC&C StreetComp Baer Pro+ brake http://scandc.com/new/node/1073 for the AFX aluminum spindles that uses a deep hat like the Track 4 on a C6/C6 format brake application but they`re 14" rotors so they won`t fit into 17" wheels. It`s a bummer, I really like the N90 wheels.

Well that would really rain on my parade, this is the combo I am planning to do, this year. Here is the link/pics/info of C5 brakes working with the N90's.

http://www.montecarloss.com/community/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=934281

I realize that is using the Blazer spindles, not AFX however.

Marcus, any insight on that? Was assuming the mounting between the Blazer and AFX spindle as far as the brakes go wouldn't be that drastic or enough to cause a caliper to not clear on one but can on the other.

My impression was AFX/C5's work with most 17"s, I believe TT2's will interfere with the caliper but clear with a small spacer.

confused again! I was going to do the Blazer spindle with C5 brakes with my N90 17''x 4.25 back space rims. So Marcus you say that they wont fit , and PB86 put up that link that they work? btw, I could not view any pics.

I couldn't view the pictures either, they are hosted at Image Shack and it appears his account is gone from there. I spoke with Marcus yesterday (thanks Marcus!) and he answered my questions, one was this issue. He said with a spacer they might very well clear but confirmed these rims won't clear the C5 setup. Not the answer I want but I might consider it, if the spacer is small enough. I also had a question to Year One and submitted a template from Kore 3 for the 325mm rotors and C5 calipers, Year One offered to check the wheel. "mondotti"/Matt did this when looking back at his post I realized, but I already sent Year One the e-mail, so we'll see what they say this time laugh .

I also had a brief exchange with Matt, he confirmed the AFX/C5/N90 combination fits great(he recently switched from Blazer to AFX spindles), I plan to talk to him to find out more information later today. Will add anything I find that is helpful. Maybe Marcus was using a N90 with 5" backspacing? I did read that those won't work with C5 brakes, somewhere.

Latest in the saga grin , discussed things with Matt a bit, he bought the wheels when they came out, no spacers needed, fits great. Year One responded to me this morning that the Kore 3 template I sent them, same one Matt did years ago probably, fits the wheel after checking. This template is of the AFX with C5 calipers/rotors. There could be a chance something in production changed over the years not letting them work with the calipers now, even though they confirmed the template works with the rim this morning. Year One fielded calls from Matt and Marcus today about this and should respond hopefully soon, I also added the question in my e-mail to them not knowing they had contacted Year One already, so they have a few people asking the same question lmao . Sounds promising to me, but will wait to hear from Year One on this.

I plan to run my TT2's with the C5 calipers I have, from what I read they will clear with a small spacer. I plan to do the N90's later in the year when funds allow, new steering box/spindles/UCA's are about as much as I can or want to spend at this point. So your TT2's clear a C6 caliper? Any pictures?

All my pictures I have are on photobucket. whats the easiest host site to use now?

I have the calipers from my donor car, 2006 gto on my car. The are supposedly the came caliper as the c6 corvette with out the corvette lettering. When I was doing my brake swap I talked to Tobin at Kore3 and he said that that the c5/c6 brakes wouldnt clear the TT2's.

So I went with the ls1 front brake rotor and pad abutment bracket, but used the gto/c6 caliper. The corvette calipers will bolt right on to the ls1 f body brackets. the calipers are very close to the rim, and I can see how with the larger corvette rotor they wouldnt clear with out a spacer.

If you still have pics on photobucket you want to share, the embedded photobucket fix works. I got lucky and left all my pics up and if osmeone uses the fix they can now see them all again.

I won't put anymore pics up there though, the site is horrid to use. I use smugmug. It's not free, but it works great.
