So last weekend I drove 90 mins to get strip what was left of this low mileage 1981 Monte. I won't be going back. I swear I head banjos

the car was 81 and yes it had shocks on the trunk hinges..but left them, didn't figure much demand

car had been in the woods for about 5 years according to the owner, this pic was take on my way out and what was left after I was done. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to stop and take a bunch of pics

anyway, one of the things I pulled was some trim off that car that I had never seen before.

you know the back of the drip rails on the roof at the top of the doors, there was a piece to trim that went across the roof and met each drip rail on the top of the doors. then a piece that ran underneath quarter window. now these pieces were not wide or bulky like vynl top trim
it was like some sort of trim package

81 has the 5 rear window pieces and that is where the ones that went under the quarter window met at the bottom corner of rear window

hard to get good pics but here is the trim I speak of held up to my parts car

to small to hold vynl top

the side wraps around the back of rear window, hard to see in the pic

maybe i'm wrong but have never seen chrome vynl top trim...

I know 81's can be all kinds of weird then 82+

anyone ever seen this before?

Most parts cars look that way at some point wink. This is a couple of many that aren't stolen but end up as such:

I said it looks like a stolen strip, not implying it is. My MCSS also looked that way.

Boy that's rough. Well, at least it's probably priced about what you'd get for scrap out of it, maybe?

Good god. Won't even give a price. He wants to negotiate it based on how much you take....
It's a parts car with no parts

That body would be good for a dirt track car.

The last 81 I bought and parted out had the trunk shocks like you are talking about. I had never seen them before on a MC. But mine didn't have the trim around the back window, like yours. Might be a rare option.
