Less than a month away, All GM is now the Chevrolet Nationals Carlisle, June 23-25. Looks like GM will have some things of interest there, and a few other venues to check out. The Nova Nostalgic convention has now joined this event instead of holding their convention elsewhere. Also it's the 50th birthday of the Camaro, would expect to see many 1st, 2nd, 3rd Gen F instead of the checkbook new Camaros which dominated last year.

Emailed South Mountain Raceway, which is up and running again, to see if they offered a Fri T&T.

Bob,
Due to declining participation Friday Night has been moved to run SUNDAY's.
Thank You,
Mountain Mike

That event is June 23-25 this year, are you thinking about a Fri or Sat night T&T so some of the guys can show their cars make more than just noise?
Several years ago several people I know ran at your track I thought Fri night.

My intended time at this event is the usual, early Sat morning, stay all day.

Yeah, we have been relocated to where the Camaros were right by the entrance.

Camaros have the whole section where the Montes/Corvettes/Impalas and full sizes were.

CARLISLE CHEVROLET NATIONALS
I see a ton of Great Montes here. For those who don't know and live in the area of Carlisle, PA or even several hours away, there is a great event coming up. June 23-25th. If you can only come for one day Saturday would be the best day. You don't need a 100 point show car to attend. Just bring your Monte and line it up with the rest of us. Even if it's a work in progress. It's called Chevrolet Nationals and is at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. All GM cars are welcome there and this year they are featuring the Camaro. A huge Camaro turnout is expected. Here you can find PICS from past shows.
Chevrolet Nationals at Carlisle PICS
A bunch of vendors and events going on all weekend. We get a good amount of Montes. Check it out. So much more to do then sit in a hot parking lot from Friday to Saturday like most shows.

Don't forget to check out and possibly go for an autocross ride in the UMI Green Machine while you are there.

FYI,

The show has an "oasis" tent for women, it's go some stuff to shop at for ladies, and is on the show field. Also a bunch of us get together after the show, and there's an arcade center and go-Karting at the place which is about 15 minutes from the show field.

I was disappointed in the Monte Carlo turnout last year, seems like every year for GM Nats it rains. I'm not gonna make it this year, been there a few years with the GTO. But would like to take the Monte next year.

Of course the more montes the better, just an fyi for those who never attended:

Friday Night we usually head to red robin for dinner.
ts, etc
Saturday morning we wash cars and head to the show. The show includes a big turnout from all types of gm cars, vendors, for sale area, parts area, womens oasis, and Chevrolet will be represesting as well, then of course the burnout contest, and Bikini contest.

After the show we head to buffalo wild wings, and then mini golf/go-karts, etc

Sunday we head to the show and pickup plaques and trophies for anyone who wants to tag along.

There were over 70 Montes last year and hundreds of other GM cars. Don't remember rain last year. Been going for years remember only one total washout because of rain. Nothing anyone can do about that. Hope you make it with the Monte one of these years.

Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha, good to see John is starting to warm things up already.

Weather permitting I'm expecting this to be one of the best events of the Summer. New format, big Camaro turnout, Nova Nationals moved here, Chevy participation (which has been sparse of late at events), how can you lose. The best day is Sat as mentioned and the car doesn't need to be pretty.
I'll be sure to drop by the UMI hangout.

Has anyone heard from Mike's Monte, need to know if I need my credit card.
Bob

Like some others have said, this has been a really good event with lots to do. I myself am looking forward to seeing what kevin tetz has going on. And I'll be picking up parts from UMI and any new video's Tetz has out. The burnout contest has always been entertaining as well as the bikini contest, but I am not sure if that is going on this year.
But really the best part is hanging out around the cars with friends we normally only see once or twice a year (except the guy from jersey) ang catching up on life events and car mods.

I could be mistaken on the year, I had gone a few years with the GTO guys. But always seemed to be new gen GTO, Impala SS, and Fiero dominant; bunch of newer gen Maro's as well now. Always wanted more G bodies and early 70's Chevelle's, with GM being so big always wanted more of a turnout. I'm sure since I won't be there this year it will be huge, get me some great pics please. I know montess2k always gets tons of great pics.

Does that mean you have an open schedule for next weekend? It's not that far once you pass Breezewood, about an hour. If you can't bring your car, bring a chair.

Whoever is going, if the 88 Month is there that GM put the LS3/T56 into, please take lots of pics of it & post. I'd like to see what AC compressor mount they are using & motor mounts, and if the frame is notched for the compressor.
