Well I went again a year later from my last post and I had a few upgrades done ti the car. Here's a run down of the car.

85 SS with a 08 l92 with a stock l76 intake , a 231/239 .617/.624 cam and 1-3/4 long tube headers. Nothing else done to the engine. Trans is a stock 4l80e with a 3400 stall and it also has 3 inch exhaust dumped at the rear through borla xr1 mufflers.

Upgrades consist of a Ford 9 inch with 4.11 gears and a posi. Rear competition engineering shocks, front Viking coil overs. And changed my wheels upfront finally to skinny light weight wheels. Tires are now M/T et pros. Here's what I ran. (Previous best was 11.42 @121 mph). YouTube video below. Thanks for checking it out.

car looks to be working very well! Do you think the wheel and tire package knocked alot of the time off?

I think it definitely helped. These fronts were much lighter. Compared to my 17s and I believe these er pro tires hook better than the wt street radials. But in sure that and the suspension upgrades played their parts to help out. And it was the same conditions as last year for the list part being in November with similar temps and same track.

I'm sure there is some more I can get out of it with me just putting it in drive instead of using my ratchet shifter. (no working tach)

Do you think a looser converter would help you leave harder? I'd like to find some slicks for my car this winter so newxt spring at the track I can hopefully turn some low 7's.

That's awesome how fast these LSx cars are with minimal work. Knocking on the door of high 10'S, congrats.

1986 Monte Carlo SS LS3 build almost running. NOT.....LOL
I will rebuild the car and up the bar a bit,Speed tech, frame work and a bigger LSX.

Looks like it was a decent day at Cecil today. The car is getting down the track very nicely. Was hoping to get down there before the close, not much time left.

Videos of the car leaving are very useful, see if you can get some from the rear of the car.

What's your rear setup, ever get the car weighed?
Bob

I have one of it from the rear but that was before the sway bar was disconnected. So it doesn't look as flashy as this one lol. Rear setup is stock factory could with boxed upper and lower control arms. Non adjustable. Competition engineering 3 way adjustable shocks. QP 9 inch.

Ive always wanted to get it weighed. Never have though. My only rule was to keep full interior. Only changing the tires from complete street setup.
