Ok..So from what I have been told..this is how the rocker / floor pan is assembled.
I commented on another post from 84SS355*4spd but didn't want to hijack his post so I am moving my questions here. Credit goes to him for this photo..just used it to mark up what im trying to understand.
I need to fix the "cover" piece "A" of the metal ontop of the body mount locations...any ideas best way to remove this?

I did that as u can see on driver side in my photo bucket . Literally just drill out a couple spot welds and if the rust is just in the first layer it will be removed . Actually really easy to do. Get a spotweld cutter . There is 3 spotwelds up by the floor seam on inside about 3 or 4 on outside floor meets firewall area under brake booster etc.if u look at the link u posted of my photo bucket u will see all the spotwelds I drilled . the floor sits about an inch overlapping the piece u want to remove . If I was u i would drill out the spotwelds after cleaning the sealer off the seams so u can see the welds . Will try and post some pics for you later . See I knew my resto and work I am doin will help and inspire others!!

There's another piece under 'B', and there's a body mount in there too.
