Ya it sure is . Been about November when I pulled the carpet and found some nasty rust in floor pan on driver side . Lucky it wasn't past the factory seams . Had to swap out the corner foot rest area above driver body mount under e brake pedal. That was fun lol. Came apart great with the spot weld cutter. The back of the pan is the trickiest part . Have the main hump fitting nice and tight for good weld . Little more trimming and then pan out again lol to make plug weld holes in pan seam like the factory . Any suggestions are welcomed . Once floor done moving into full quarters and new door shells . Got the driver quarter roof seam exposed after scraping and chipping the lead off . Car wasnt rusted out like the floor was at driver seat area. I figure instead of patching the quarters that full new ones would make the car much better in the end. First time doing this so I'm learning and researching as I go . Glad to have good friends to help lol.

nice work! ill be doing this soon too. I was wondering if I bought the left and right side separate and left the trans tunnel in tact if it would be easier. yours looks great and mine is in about the same condition as yours was before. I was just thinking that it might be easier for myself because Im not much of a body repairman.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Markg this is my first time doing the floor . I honestly think its easier doing entire floor . Plus less welding . Ls1 monte I have removed rear window last night before reading this . What you suggested I already figured lol. Thought about the studs for the trim as well . I will prob get the shop that is doing the paint to stud weld all of the window studs back on same with the front . Window came out pretty easy with a heat gun and 90 deg pick . All glass is coming out body will be totally stripped down . Just ordered both full quarters , seat mount square mount pads , and floor plugs. Need a better way to remove the lead from quarter seams any ideas thx . Ls1monte can u send me a pic of the quarter mainly the upper flange. That should be the factory seam like in the pic. This is my first rebuild as far as body and love it !

I dont have much more of a pic of the OEM qtr seam but it comes across to the window and is the outer most layer on the top of that window recessed area. Here is the new qtr that I have not sure if the new ones are the same although I would suppose they are. Hope that helps some.

if you use a torch the lead will roll out of the joint, just dont overheat the roof panel. I'll get that pic later today.
I just re-read my pic post and I think I wasn't very clear. The roof skin comes down to the quarter window opening and it is the outer most layer of the top window lip. The quarter panel is the next one under that I believe.

Thx . Ya i have the seams figured out and how I'm going to install it. If u notice in your window well area on the top roof section ,the flange is part of the roof as well. Quarter slips under that. If my quarter is like yours I will be modifying the above window area on the new panel so it slides under just like the factory one . Cleaned the back window flange last night . the quarter should have a flange for the rear window channel where the window clip studs are . That sealant for the rear is a pain . Side window came out and the sealant came off by just grabbing it and peeled right off . Have good day

I recommend welding the seam shut in the corner of the quarter window frame. The large factory gaps there cause a lot of flexing and cracked filler.
SBC powered 1987 Regal with TES headers, ZZ4 intake, ZZ4 PROM chip, mini starter, THM2004R, 2500 stall converter, 2040 cam, CCC system, and 3.73 posi rear.
2008 ex NPS P71 Crown Victoria, cop motor, cop shocks, cop brakes, and Jmod.
Never argue with an idiot. They will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Thanks i was thinking to weld that area . Will look at that once I install the quarter . Mine was cracking like a hair line crack. I WONT be replacing the lead with plastic filler . Read other members stating that it is like a sponge and will retain moisture.Any one use it . What is best to replace the lead with so it look right and doesn't crack in the future thanks

That's wicked windows in the back didnt scare me but the windshield is scary lol. Quarters I will admit its scary but any one with mechanical ability and can see how things are together can do it. I'm almost at the brace and seat mounts . Waiting for the quarters and seat mount pads to come. Im hoping in a week or two i should be on the quarters. Do you have a build thread too ?
