More than likely the buzzer is going bad, but reach up underneath the dash on the left side and make sure it is in tight. Also possible, but unlikely, that the connectors on the buzzer could need cleaned of and scuffed up to get a good connection. When you do this procedure, I would have a replacement buzzer on hand ready to install.

Sounds like the buzzer is going bad. They are hard to get to, so try to reach there and give itt a couple of light taps then test it. if no improvement, take the buzzer out and clean the connections then reinstall it and test it. If no improvement it is more than likely the buzzer. Have a replacement on hand when testing.

Thanks, I'll check first for loose fit.

I know the buzzer is supposed to be annoying so you will turn off the lights, but has anyone replaced their buzzer with something a little more up to date sounding?

I've thought about that too. I know RS has universal buzzer or chimes but I haven't heard them-so not sure if they're cheesy sounding or not. I built a auto-on/delay off headlight/courtesy lighting harness for my Shortbox pickup project and thought about adding a chime but I don't know how practical it would really be other than the coolness of it.

I would look in the yards for newer vehicles for chimes tho-european may be the best....?
