So im trying to formulate a plan for my suspension in the future. Front for now will just be 98+ Blazer 2in drop spindles and ive convinced myself that between new springs in the front and trial and error to find the ride height vs handling that its more cost effective to go with QA1 coilovers in the front so that I can fine tune the ride height and shock dampning. Later as funds prevail upper and lower arms will come into play to finish it off.

So here I am with the rear and they dont make anything decent in the bolt on catagory so I must move on to fabrication. Obviously the lower shock mount will not offer the ability to hold the dynamic weights of the vehicle and neither will the upper shock mount.

Does anyone have any thing they might have done in this area with using coil overs? Or any setups that I can see some pics of for ideas...

Much appreciated in advance!

UMI has their rear C/O kits that use QA1 shocks.

I have an anti roll bar kit and plan to use that and mount coil overs to it also. With 3" duals and stock sumped tank it was about the only option. Going to weld the bar between the frame rails where the stock springs are now. Here's a link to some pics of G bodies with ARB's mounted in them; some of them have coil overs also. Might help give you some ideas.

After looking at prices it makes me wonder if I can just build my own coilovers from Afco... They make aluminum bodied threaded shocks and hardware to assemble them along with much more spring rate choices and seems I can piece them together for half the price of these other "kits" that are being offered.

Those kit prices are not bad, considering they have double adjustable shocks, springs, and all the hardware needed.
If you pieced it together it all adds up quickly.

sicmonte just installed an Air Ride coilover kit on the rear of his car. I think he did a write up on it, if not here definately over at pro-touring. Even if you dont want to buy a kit, he posted a bunch of pictures of the install to give you an idea of how they spread the load out.
