So I am about to install my third brass prop valve from inline tube. Every one I have installed so far has leaked out of the front rubber boot that covers the valve. I called inline tube and they ADMITTED to me that 15/100 of these style prop valves fail and leak from that valve. Doesn't 15/100 seem a little bit high?? And they came right out and admitted it!

Now I know that they do not manufacture these prop valves and apparentlly their supplier is the only company who makes these units.

What do you all use for a dics/drum valve? The one I have is a stock replacement, made of brass and has a 70/30 valving. They do make a solid brass one which has no front valve (leaking part!!) but that is rated at 50/50 valving.

why list my mods...the car speaks for itself...and scares old ladies and children.

Agreed, better off gutting the stock combo valve PV and installing an adjustable PV, if you are changing to rear discs.

After getting 2 bum ones, I'd write them off...
Maybe try one of these instead:

Year One
They have disk/drum and disk/disk (from CPP)

Edit:
Disk/drum http://www.opgi.com/p/brakes/19839/108/CH26775.html
disk/disk http://www.opgi.com/p/brakes/19839/108/CH26776.html

I assume these are not made by Inline Tube...(although the tooling
of it is identical, except for the engraved 'CPP' on the side)
Note the feedback from the disk/drum link:
'Has not leaked yet. I tryed 2 from another vendor and both leaked.'

There is no excude good enough for any company to have a 15% failure rate and still be in business. You need to get a different brand.

15/100 is not acceptable whatsoever, ESPECIALLY on a brake component. Imagine if an accident occured with a known "bad" prop valve. As a vendor you would not be in business very long. Parts I have purchased in the past (3 cars) have always been of high quality and I have been pleased. But admitting a bad valve is something I would ask them to refund, or provide a known "good" part. You may want to give them some free advice as well, admitting 15/100 parts have known issues is asking for very serious legal trouble called Product Liability!

FWIW I have the same valve and never had a leak. (But I'm on my fourth line lock...)

You could buy from a different company (maybe Inline got a bad batch), but in the end you will get the same valve, because only one company actually makes them like you said.

EXACTLLY!! I am glad you read and understood my original post. Only one company makes these brass prop valves...every company out there buys them from this same place. I can't tell you how many of these prop valves I have heard of leaking from the exact same place.

I am trying to get away from this type of valve. Does anyone have pics of their set ups?

Bad batch, or is there a price difference amongst the other vendors? It could be a tier issue, if this combo valve is available to several vendors and there appears to be a price hike, it simply could be that the price hike is due to quality parts being used in those units.

There may only be one company making that type of valve, but there are many other types. You would have to run new lines with the others, but it's still better than having a valve that you know might start leaking at any time. If you want to stay with that type so you don't have to run new lines, call Summit and ask them how many returns they have had on that valve. They sell it for $65. Most likely though if you call them, you're going to get someone that either doesn't know how many come back, or just won't tell you.

sorry not buy'n the one company making them all..
there is no way that many vendors would put up with 15 out of every 100 being bad.. nevermind on a brake system part..
vendors would've pulled this part and any kit that used it untill the issue was fixed.. their lawyers would've all but demanded that action.

think for a minute, the liability of a vendor knowingly selling that failure prone part for a braking system..
I think what you've heard is a bunch of b/s
