Mary Pozzi's review of the Monte is in the March 2016, current, issue of Super Chevy. It did very well. It was the only one without a cage to stiffen the chassis.

Here's a link and make sure to checkout the video
http://www.superchevy.com/features/1511-...eral-g-in-body/

From this experience the Ridetech coilovers have been sent out for a spring change and updated valving. Some pedal work will also be done over the winter once our current project moves out of the way and out to Schwartz.

Cars and Cones, similar to drag week, will be the first event this year coming in
May. It should break in the new BFG Rival S's that are mounted up.

Dan, are you getting some of the new Secret Sauce autocross valving in them that Ron Sutton and Ridetech have been using? Ron has been after me to send my shocks back in to get revalved, he says the new stuff is night and day better than what I'm running now.

don't know. It was suggested since they have 3 years of use and 25,000 miles to have them looked at. Also was told they change the valving and I wanted the new adjuster knods. Remember I also have the single adjustables and I'm not looking to upgrade.

The new digressive valving works in the singles as well I'm pretty sure, I bet that's what they give you. You will notice a HUGE difference in grip over what you have now.

Lance that secret sauce has been around a long time in Moto cross. Fox shocks are great and (IF) I'm correct that's who's engineering went into the ride tech shocks.

You are correct they are a Fox shock. I know they had a test this past summer that Schwartz was invited to for valving and tuning. I like these companies that are proactive and don't just sit in their laurels.

First week of May I attended a new event that's similar to drag week but auto cross based called Road Trip Cars and Cones. 5 days starting in Charlotte, NC ending in Jasper, IN. Over $85,000 in giveaways for the week. 84 cars participated in the inaugural event and everyone left with a smile. In the 4 events the Monte finished no worse than 14th and no better than 13th. I was very pleased with the results and learned so much from a week of seat time. New BFG Rival S's, revalved shocks, and better brake pads once again made for a learning curve.

On the last day I was awarded a certificate from Baer Brakes for their Remaster master cylinder and was thrilled to death to be awarded a new Schwartz Performance chassis for the daughters current project. Jeff gave 2 chassis away for the week valued at over $18,000 a piece. Ridetech, BFG, Falken, Detroit Speed, No Limit, Holley, Optima, USCA and others I'm forgetting made many happy people. Thanks for all the sponsors as they make these events possible.

That is awesome Dan, I was wondering who got the Chassis. Kaycee will love that addition to the Jeep.

Did you hit a cone causing that inside front jump like that?

I so want to do that trip next year, working on the logistics already. Need to teach my wife to be comfortable driving the RV pulling the trailer to make it work me thinks.

We towed to Jasper, Ryan Buck and I, and then caravaned with the Ridetech group to Charlotte. Worked great. By the way, Ryan was awarded the other chassis. The Willys was already getting a chassis, this just made it way cheaper.

Dan,

Awesome to see you at it,

It still amazes me to see that car. I would say I haven't as of yet seen a Monte Carlo that impressive. The whole build, events and publicity you have experienced is so cool.

Congrats on the chassis. I guess it couldn't have found a better home. You and the family do great work together and will put that to good use. thumbs

I bet you guys had a great time on that cruise. I wish I could experience something like that one day. But heck I'm happy just sitting on my cars and taking that once in a while cruise for now.

Regards,
Ron.

Not a bad month of July for the Monte Carlo. Ran Good Guys in Des Moines the first weekend of the month for their All American Sunday and came home with a first place and dominated the field.

Two weeks later we traveled to Milwaukee, WI for the Car Craft Summer Nationals and came home with a second having lost first by the tie breaker which is hp in Real Street Eliminator. Hard for an LS1 to get an LS7.

Two weeks after that we ran the USCA event in Charlotte, NC and finished 3rd in GTV. 27 cars in my class and with 72 entries I finished 14th overall. With the caliber of cars and drivers I am ecstatic with those results. The car does everything I can ask of it. Ran 155+ mph on the roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

While in Charlotte our little group, street legal stock car tributes, had our 2nd annual shop tour. Pretty much shut down the roads in the area.

Nice.

I assume that going to a tie-breaker means that your car was better at some driving event (and did so with less power).

Quite a summer, eh?
