How is your door to qtr gap?

It seems like both of mine the qtr side of the seam is not straight, or in other words it doesn't follow the the door evenly. The gap is even from the bottom up past the side stripes a few inches then it gets wider on up to the door top.

I'll get some pics neither qtr on mine is welded yet as I wanted to fit the trunk and tail lights.

Let me know how your measurements compare, from the top of the roof down to the the flange on the qtr it's an inch

As far as the measurements to the qtr window it's hard cause the aftermarket panel doesn't have too many sharp edges most are rounded but the front edge is right near an inch and a quarter

And the rear edge about an inch and a half

Whoops I forgot to post that pic of the rear qtr seam I'll get it shortly

I'm thinking a little scrap filler welded in on the rear finished with lead.

Well I was able to make some progress over the last couple of days got the door/ qtr gaps cleaned and adjusted, and got the rear gaps straightened.

The welded on studs for the rear bumper were in bad shape so for now I took them off and put stainless bolts in place, might leave it that way.

But the rear came together which is a good feeling after all the metal that has been replaced on the car.

Well took the front window out and cleaned up the last bits of the wiper assembly in preparation for getting the car blasted and primed.

This morning I found this which I'd have to believe contributed to the rust on the passenger side...

You can see daylight through it so you know water flowed through on down the inside of the door jamb, good to find now.

Hey Matt, kinda in the same boat but the last thing accomplished is the drivers qtr is all welded in cept the roof seam, and ready to do the same to the pass one.

What area of the trunk do you want pics of?

Thanks Mick for the patch panel!

This is one of the last few PCs I had to repair.

What I did get taken care of was the rear studs for the bumper cover. I bought some metric bolts an inch long and cut off the damaged studs, stuck the new bolts through a hole in the same position and welded them in worked out great.

Nice patch . I'm back working on the car again. Replacing the inner and outer rocker on the passenger side right now . Almost have the outer off. The trunk pan u said fit ba where the filler knock goes I was wondering how it looks . Also the quarter to door gap how did u fix the gap on it any pics of that . Car looks great all back together . Can wait till I'm there . In still a bit behind you . Going to post some pics of the passenger rocker work . I also need to replace my windshield pillars at the bottom . The water didnt go inside the door posts thankfully. I have been looking at the t top pillars and Im pretty sure they can be used on a hard top. just modified to weld to the roof

Hey 84ss been awhile! Hope things are going well your way.

As far as the door to quarter gap it seemed all the bends on the aftermarket quarter were soft, basically not sharp 90 deg. bends or whatever they are, so what I did was lightly hammer, on the qtr edge, about half way down to the bottom on the door jamb face and it seemed to get me what I needed and really did not distort the face of the quarter either.

I don't have any pics of the filler neck I'll see if I can get some.

Here's what I was working on tonight, the RR weather strip channel. You can see the aftermarket one on the right it didn't have the back edge to it so if there is a leak somewhere it would dump back into the roof structure, I just didn't care for that so I bought some 16 ga and bent my own.

Those wheel houses are extras I bought before I found the complete ones, inner and outer, I swapped in as a whole.
