If you do get the moog ones, they only come one per box despite what the picture shows...so order two.

15597425 is the GM part number, these are fiber, not rubber.

Io didn't think the front needed isolators, just the back...am I wrong? I have a set of duralast springs and auto zone website doesn't list front isolators/insulators

Front insulators came stock in my 86SS, the Helm's Service manual shows them, would think most all GM's come with them on top. They are a fiber construction, about 3/16" think, and could be stacked to adjust side to side ride height/corner weights. I've always had them installed, also installed them in a 67 Camaro to raise the front end a little. I'm not a urethane proponent, only a few places I would install it. I believe the urethane front insulators are thicker, 3/8", which would raise the ride height about 1/2" compared to having no insualtors.

The rear G's used a rubber pigtail insulator on the top. I run one top and bottom, this raises the rear about 1/8", and isolates the rear from the chassis a little better. You could effectively change the preload on the right rear tire, something like an air bag would do, by installing thicker/firmer insulators at the top and bottom of the right rear spring and running no insulators on the left rear. Just another tuning trick for the track time.

Did you install them on the upper and lower position?

Just put some in mine. Got them at napa. Had some trouble getting them to stay in place up top. I tried some rubber contact cement to try to hold them in place. It was tough but I prevailed. Motor was out so it was a real battle to compress the new global west big block springs and fight with the isolators.

85 ss 489 big block, Pro Comp Alum. heads, Scat rotating assembly, forged srp 10.1 pistons cast 9000 series cast crank. Turbo 400 trans. Currie ford 9" housing. Global west suspension. Motor dyno,d at 601.5 h.p @ 6,000 rpm. 593 ftlbs of tourque @ 4500 rpm at crank. On pump gas.

What's the latest on this? I just got a new set of SPC lowering springs and was just going to put new isolators up top front and back. I was planning on getting them from either rockauto.com or SS396.com. Any current experiences or recommendations is greatly appreciated thanks. Car is used for street and strip and has a new set of Bilsteins on it now. No plans for drop spindles just wanted higher rate springs and the car lower.

Thanks,
Dave

isolator
Thie is the one you want they come 1 to a pack order 2 for the front. They are rubber they go on top of the spring. Zip tie them to the spring with 3 or 4 ties. My thread here goes through my install of moog 5664s Spring Install the stock ones i pulled off were rubber as well

GM part #15597425 for the front spring insulator, about $9 list.
GM part #10247105 for the rear spring insulator, about $16 list.

I run one on the top of the front spring, you can use electrical tape to secure it to the spring.

In the rear I run a rear insulator on the top and the bottom of the spring, two reasons, raise the rear about 3/16", also reduces noise transmited through the springs.
