So I am gathering all the parts I need to instal the dual piston blazer brakes. However I am getting different information on what is exactly needed. I purchased a set of 98 to 02 s10 2wd spindles and the dual piston brakes from a blazer. What other parts do I need to make this swap complete and are the s10 spindles and blazer spindles should be the same correct? Thanks for your help.

No, 2wd blazer/jimmy spindles are different than the s10/sonoma spindles. The SUVs have sealed hubs. I don't know if the brakes interchange between them, I'm going with C5 stuff so I didn't bother to research the stock brakes. I'll let someone else comment on the brakes.

Here is a picture of my jimmy/blazer spindles.

Here's a better picture of them taken apart:

That's irritating. I asked the salvage yard guy 3 times if there was any difference between the 2 and he said no. so now I have s10 spindles with blazer brakes. I was planning on switching to c5 down the road.

The Blazer ones are the ones needed..the S10 uses a smaller Caliper. I have 2000 Blazer 2wd Brakes on mine.

I have only seen the spindles with the hub off of 2wd blazers no s10's.

Yeah my local yard kept telling me that they were the same too (I knew better). I kept telling him that I wanted 98-02 S10 BLAZER 2WD spindles, he kept telling me that they were in the yard. Couldnt find them, went back to the front, again he told me they were there, right behind the building. So I looked again, a truck was there, NOT THE SAME. So I went back inside & said nope, not there, I need them from a BLAZER. He said, come here I will show you. Took me to the truck. I told him they were different. He got all xxxx with me telling me they were the same. I said, "Do you have a computer system to look up parts?" He said "Yes", I said "Go look it up & come back and tell me what you find." A few minutes later he came out & said "You were right, they are different."

Made my day.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. 2 trips to the salvage yard before I got the right part. I even took a pic of the part I needed

When I did mine they came from a '02 Blazer Extreme. Used every thing except the brake hose's. The Monte lines will work with this swap.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but what are the benefit to change over to Blazer brake? Better caliper? Bigger rotor? Or both? Is this just bolt-in type swap?

I have a B-body brake right now, but if this is better set-up, I want to do this on my Black SS. Where can I find a info about this?

If you already have the 12" B body setup, then I would say you have a better setup than the stock ZQ8 (S10 blazer) setup. BUT, the Blazer setup uses a slip on rotor & makes it easy to mount Vette calipers & 13" rotors.

Here is what I did:

I did the Blazer/ZQ8 swap in 2006 on my LS and don't think it's really worth it over stock brakes to be honest. Not much more surface area and a heavier setup that has pricey hubs on top of it. If you are going to Vette brakes then sure, but there are other options out there that are better from what I've read over the stock "ZQ8" brakes. I'd like to upgrade mine to C5 brakes but my understanding is you need 17" wheels to clear them frown .
