That's right Ken, I'll do exactly the same for you as you did for me, I promise. laugh

Scott, if the show is east of I-65, I'll most likely make it to the show.

Not sure if we'll make it this year or not. Pam lost her job in Nov. and things are getting tight. Wish I hadn't bought my truck and build my garage last year. It would be nice to see all you who missed the Nationals last year and others I haven't seen in years who will probably be there this year. I'd also like to get on Bristol. Missed my chance in 2009 with the Power Tour. By the time most of the long haulers got there the track was booked. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Trust me, I think we have all felt your pain. The economy of the last few years has been rough. Please let Pam know we wish her only the best of luck. Things happen for a reason, I prefer to think for the better. Keep your chin up! Hope things work out for you guys.

Jeff you are exactly right. Pams brother became ill Jan. 2nd. We found out a short time later he had liver cancer and passed away on Jan.22nd. We spent everyday with him after he became ill. Had Pam been working this would not have been possible. We also decided everything happens for a reason.

Dennis,
I just went through the same things 2 years ago with Liz.
It was really hard at first but in the long run it was the best thing for her. Things are still a little tighter then i would like but we are happy and have our health.

Cindy and I were at the host hotel (Holiday Inn) in Johnson City on Friday, March 16, 2012.

If you are planning on coming to the event, and have not made your reservations at the Holiday Inn yet, you should do so as soon as possible! We had to increase our block of rooms for Thursday night, and we have a record number of members with rooms booked for Wednesday night! Right now, it appears to shaping up as a good event.

LOL!

First time in a LONG time I've been described as "gloomy"/"negative" ... that I'm aware of, anyway.

Well...it looks like they will be working on Bristol.
Maybe they will be done in time and the NMCOA can be the first ones on it.

As season ticket holders at BMS, and as the Management team for the NMCOA, Cindy and I have been aware of the media releases being made by Bruton Smith since they began on Monday, March 19th. Again yesterday, Bruton made more statements.... with no specifics. He stated that the changes to the track will be announced in two weeks. As you can imagine, the folks that work at BMS are at the mercy of their boss.... Bruton Smith.

Until official announcement(s) are made by BMS...... everything is still a mystery. The clock is ticking for BMS. According to everything that I have read, any changes to the track would need to be finished at least six weeks prior to the August race weekend. NASCAR and Goodyear need that much time to test and prepare the new tires that would be needed at BMS for the August races. If this is accurate, BMS work would need to be completed on or around July 10, 2012.

We will continue to monitor the situation. We will make any necessary announcements. But for now, it is planning and preparation as usual.

Hey John, please don't beat yourself up over this. Not a single person can place blame on you, Cindy, or the NMCOA, over what decision is made. A few years back, the drag strip was redone in prep for the NHRA. No on track activities. Bristol has events throughout the year, for all kinds of thing. Even the SCS had to steer clear of on track activities. IMHO, members who do come, will enjoy the track tour, as well as seeing just how the paving process goes on a high bank track. As Ken and myself have mentioned down in the SMCC section, this will also give folks more time to see/visit one another. One thing we ALWAYS run short on is time together. However things turn out, we will keep a positive attitude and things will still be great.
