Out with the old junk.

New brake lines.

Upper control arms

LS1 disk brakes

All installed

CLOSE but i should be ok

Dont mind the missing/xxxx lug nuts they are only temporary

Still need to figure out the ebrake cables. I also need to cut and reflare the brake lines to match to the new lines. Then load the suspension and tighten down all of the control arms.

Looks great, I noticed a huge differnce when I upgraded the brakes. However when I installed the rear brakes I switched sides so the calipers were at the front of the rotor and I wouldnt have any shock clearance issues ( apparently this won't work with lowered cars )

TES Headers - done !
new cat-back exhaust - done !
5.7 swap - done !
3.73 posi rear - done !
blazer front brakes - done !
LS1 Rear Brakes - done!
transmission - rebuilt !
now looking for a replacement rear

I was more concerned with frame to caliper clearance than shock to caliper clearance.

Im glad it worked out for you but I didnt want to chance it, with the calipers toward the back there is much more clearance to the frame.

Another weekend gone by, another little chunk taken out. A problem though...

The UMI upper control arms dont clear my wheels, not sure why. Im going to install the slip on rotors but I really dont see that making much difference.

Yep, been a while. Got a lot full of cars, havent had any spare time.

Brought it over to a buddy of mine who runs a local speed shop. Im turning over the reins of final assembly, wiring, and getting it to run.

Off the bat im going to have to come off over 2k for wheels. Going with Weld RT-S.

The car outlasted my friends business. Its back at my shop now. Pretty much the same condition as the last pics I posted.

I did pick up some wheels for it.

Got the car started last weekend. Something found its way into the cylinder during its trip from shop to shop.

Was a stock 5.7 ls1 with a hot cam, stock 853 heads and ls6 intake. Motor had less than 2 minutes of run time. Noise started out real small and got louder and louder. Open headers made it tough to hear at first. All of the bearings, rod and crank looked great, something was inside the cylinder. Dont know if it was messed up when I bought it or if something made its way into the cylinder in the last 6 years its been moved around.

I saw red, car was almost sold. I slept on it and declined to entertain offers.

Found another 5.7 short block, with a set of 241 heads already off. Heads are getting a port and polish, pac springs, keeping the ls6 intake, more aggressive custom grind cam, and comp cams timing set. Going to check the rod bearings and install ARP hardware. Gotta buy another H3 oil pan set.
